Lots of variety,

Traditional and songs written by Ann abound. The sounds are traditional and traditional/modern. She plays highland pipes, smallpipes, shuttlepipes and low whistle and sings. My favorite is Neil Gow's Lament For His Second Wife. It's very beautiful and is played on low whistle. It's great to see a woman so talented on all these instruments. I eagerly look forward to her next album.

Ann Gray is a "crack piper" and has won many awards for her piping. One thing I really appreciate about this album is that she shows the versatility of the pipes with a variety of celtic and non-celtic stylings. There's some Spanish style, some Scot/military stuff, some ballad... but it's all excellent. Enjoy!!
