5.0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST R&B ALBUMS OF ALL TIME
DEVANTE SWINGS SHOW HIS TRUE MUSICAL GENIUS. START THE CD ON TRACK 11 AND JUST LET IT GO. KICK BACK AND CHILL, PERHAPS CLOSE YOUR EYES. I GO BACK TO THIS ALBUM EVEN THOUGH ITS LIKE A DECADE OLD CUZ THE BEATS AND ARRANGEMENTS ARE unparalleled! THE BEATS, THE LYRICS, THE HARMONY. THIS IS PURE R&B AT ITS BEST. COME BACK JODECI!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Hmmm
Boy was I surprised as a high schooler to hear track # 13. Haha! There are too many interludes on here but as far as song quality goes, these are good tunes. If you want a sexual-horn dog CD, buy this one. "Get On Up" and "Love You For Life" are really the only ~non-sexual~ tunes on here.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a masterpiece, July 18, 2004
This CD from start to finish is the best Jodeci CD's and one of the best albums ever. Don't get me wrong, "Diary Of A Mad Band" had the best string of songs from tracks 1-6 but this is more balanced even with the interludes. My man Louis from Southfield, MI could not have explained it any better. Jodeci was basically bringing you into their living and showing what they may endured on their tour and what some artists do. The album gives you a timeline from the start of the evening when things are starting to begin till the we-hours of the morning. When you play any of these songs at a party, I bet half of the women just get to humpin' around and going crazy. This is a great road album if you are traveling. Another thing about this CD is that it is starting to show you Jodeci starting to branch off into their own agendas. DeVante is a freekin genious-Top 5 of producers in my category(Tone Capone, DJ Quik, Mike Dean, QDIII). This CD is a straight lovers CD, I know that a lot back in our junior year of high school to senior year of college can relate to this CD and appreciate it. A lot of babies have been produced from this CD. All I can say is this CD is dope!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars They could've done a lot better., May 31, 2000

Don't get me wrong, i'm one of the biggest Jodeci fans out there. But what is up with this cd? Too many interludes and not enough singing for me to give this cd a higher rating than 3 stars. The only good song on the entire album is "freek n' you." That's pretty pathetic for having 22 songs on the thing. "Love U 4 Life" and "Get on Up" are alright but nothing too special. So unless you're a diehard Jodeci fan I recommend you stay away from this one, and get yourself either "Forever My Lady" or "Diary of a Mad Band," which to me are damn near classics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jodeci 4ever...Cuzz!!!, June 29, 2004

It's been 9 summers since it dropped...and this $hit is still BANGIN!!! These cats have out done themselves on this one. The fact that I heard this CD pourin' out of some young brothas SUV sittin' on 24"s (spinnin') at Prairie View A&M in 2004 is true testament. And this cat had to be only 9 or 10 years old when it orginally came out. For this album to carry over to these new soldiers speaks for itself...sounding just as good today as it did back in 95'...(x-cuse the redundancy). Aside of the dialogue and interludes (which was cool dont get me wrong)...the album started off BUMPIN!!! and the BUMP maintained throughout the whole damn thing...even with the slow $hit! A lotta of BASS and heavy Bottom, jus' the way I like it. DeVantes' a mothaf*ckin GENIOUS. It has so much BUMP its gotten me good and plenty...even messed around and made a baby off this. I played that CD till it got all scratched up...now I gotta go out buy 2 new ones...one for back up jus' incase. Too bad these cats fall off. Hate That!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A creative masterpiece, October 3, 2001

"unuscione" (The University of Michigan) - See all my reviews
"The Show, the After Party, the Hotel" is less like an album and more like an experience. There is not another album like it, and on top of all that, the music is fantastic. What I love about Jodeci is simply that no one else sounds like them musically or vocally and, try as these other groups might, they will never be able to top this group. Check out: "Let's Do It All", "Time & Place", "Good Luv", and every other song on this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS POSSIBLY THE BEST ALBUM OF THE 90'S, July 11, 2001

I've been a Jodeci fan for 10 years and this album is just superb. Each Jodeci album thus far has been better than the last. This album is just like Doggystyle you put it on at a party people listen this is classic. All three Jodeci albums have been burning my cd player because i listen to them constantly. Devante and Dalvin produced the Haileys with perfect songs to sing to. Devante is quite possibly the greatest singer songwriter producer in the last 15 or 20 years everything he touces goes gold or platinum. My favorite songs are "Freek n You" "Can We Flo" "Get on Up" Bring on Da Funk" "Time And Place." Put on "Freek n You" and girls will do pretty much anything. Thank you Jodeci. If you buy one album in the near future buy this one!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars JODECI-so freeky!, April 11, 2000

This album was cool. It was not as cold as DIARY OF A MAD BAND, because it did not display their total vocal talent. Yet and still I have my favorites: Pump It Back, Good Luv, Freek N You and others. JODECI is a good band, overall. I love them!
