5.0 out of 5 stars If you can sew a straight line, you can paper piece, November 29, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Show Me How to Paper Piece (Paperback)
That's right! If you can sew a straight line, you can learn how to paper piece using Carol Doak's book. The directions are clear and the illustrations are excellent. It takes the mystery out of handling those little bits of fabric. I made the small quilt shown on the cover as my first paper piecing project. It came out beautiful. Once the reader has actually gone through and pieced the sample block, the reader will realize the the methodology taught is suitable for most paper piecing projects.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even if you can't sew a straight line you can paper piece., January 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Show Me How to Paper Piece (Paperback)
I am hooked on paper piecing after following Carol Doak's easy instructions. The first block I did came out perfect. Talk about instant gratification, you can's miss. I've already gone out and bought Carol's book Easy Machine Piecing. The only problem is, I can't decide on which block to try first.

5.0 out of 5 stars Carol's Book is Like Taking a Class!, March 6, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Show Me How to Paper Piece (Paperback)
I purchased Carol's book because I chose a very difficult fan design to use in a challenge quilt and needed to paper piece for accuracy. I had never tried to paper piece before because all the on-line instructions I found were contradictory and confusing. For me, this book was the best resource for learning to paper piece because the techniques are clearly shown in photos and instructions and the pre-printed papers for piecing are included. I normally learn best from a class where I can see techniques demonstrated, but this book is just like taking a class and my challenge quilt turned out perfect!
