You may or may not approve of Campbell's turn to Christianity. Don't let that keep you from this disc. It is a tightly crafted, well produced, marvelously song collection of songs. If you enjoy Glen Campbell, you will love this disc.

The words of these songs show the journey that Glen Campbell took to be where he connected to the Lord. This is one of my favorite albums.

I owned this as a cassette tape many years ago and I love every song on it. I owned it and wore it out. Hmmm, maybe I should get the CD. Anyway this is Glen Campbell's first recording of Gospel music, if I remember correctly, and it was done right. He wrote or co-wrote all of the songs, then he had help with three (3) of the finest voices around - in my humble opinion - Russ Taff, Kelly Nelon and Anne Murray give their talents on three tracks. The album was originally released in 1991.
It came about after a spell of hard times of trouble he went through. When the time was right, God brought into his life and he married a very Godly lady who introduced this music icon to the Master Icon, Jesus Christ. Glen, himself, said that this lady "literally saved"[sic] his life. If you know of him during those years you might remember he tried to drink everything he could get his hands on, then he would be busted for DUI or Public Drunkeness, fighting or some other like charge. But when Glen gave himself to Jesus, he literally changed within - for the most part. Sure, he "fell off the wagon" but for the most part his life and direction for living was really changed. Being the great musician he is, he naturally gravitated toward Gospel music and this is the result of that change; thankfulness toward God for saving him from himself and wanting to put that out to all of we who love his music. There is a lot of truth in these songs. There are songs about how his fame and lust for things failed him in the long-run; how, to him, "the greatest gift of all" was when Jesus gave him eternal life and wiped away his trangressions and rebellion; there's even a song of the end of time entitled "The Four Horsemen". These songs are very inspirational for those of you who walk a different path than most. They impart truth, goodness and love of and from God, thankfulness for changing his life and a good look forward to when the Saviour comes back for His bride, how everything will be anarchy and upheaval until He puts everything in its proper place. Great music from a great musician. I hope y'all don't mind the background I added to show the whys and whens of his writing of this music. The songs are: The Greatest Gift of All, Jesus and Me, Where I'm Going, Wayward Son, Unto the Least of These, Show Me Your Way, This Savior I Sing of Today, A Few Good Men, Where Shadows Never Fall and The Four Horsemen.
