Misleading product description but mostly adequate glove., November 13, 2009
This review is from: Showa Best Glove 6797R Flannel Lined Neoprene Glove (Misc.)
These gloves are OK for some kinds of mucking about and they do protect your wrists and lower shirtsleeves.
However, they have limitations and false marketing that a purchaser should be aware of.
(1) The description says "Elbow-Length" and "glove with 17 inch gauntlet". Both statements are not true.
I'm only 5'10" and yet the gloves are a full 3 inches short of my elbows (measured at the outside).
The "gauntlet" part of the glove is only 7.5 inches. OVERALL, the glove is only about 16.3 inches long.
If you need a glove to keep your arms or elbows dry, this ain't it.
(2) The gloves are stiff and oversized. By standard glove sizes, these are not "large" as advertised, they are closer to XL to XXL. This is OK for mucking about. But, if you need any kind of finger dexterity, these gloves will not work.
For my purposes, they work better than my previous gloves and seem reasonably tough; so I'm rating them four stars.
If someone knows of TRUE elbow-length (or longer) gloves, please drop me a note.
