5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE this!
I have really coarse body hair, thanks to my Portuguese background!! I hate shaving, because even right after I shave, you can see black specks and feel stubble. This dissolves ALL the hair, and using the sponge really helps. It didn't hurt at all, and the smell, though chemical, isn't too bad. I did leave it on for about 6-7 minutes, instead of the 2-3 it recommends...

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay shaving alternative
Lets just say I'm not the best when it comes to a razor. After countless tries to find a great alternitave, I stumbled upon Nair. The first time I put it on I thought to myself why would anyone ever want to use this? It hurts/burns the first couple of times and it has a pungent smell. The pain dulls in time and usages. The thing that irks me is that it's supposed to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay shaving alternative, October 12, 2009

Lets just say I'm not the best when it comes to a razor. After countless tries to find a great alternitave, I stumbled upon Nair. The first time I put it on I thought to myself why would anyone ever want to use this? It hurts/burns the first couple of times and it has a pungent smell. The pain dulls in time and usages. The thing that irks me is that it's supposed to chemically dissolve the hair roots evenly so the root and hair is gone, but it doesn't evenly get rid off all the hair covered. It's really frusterating!! I often have to shave the rest off manually, so it added extra inconveniance. In the end my legs were smooth tho, so I guess it's okay.

What I found pleasantly suprising is that the promised hairless leg effect lasts really long! I'm not sure exactally how long, I noticed little fine hairs regrowing 1-2 weeks later.

After doing some reasearch on hair removal, I found out that it's good to open one's pores by warm water in showers and baths. I haven't tried this yet, but if you sould want to try out Nair, it shouldn't be so bad for you if you prep your skin with a nice long bath. *shrug* Everybody's legs are different. Maybe Nair will work for you. I wish you the best of luck!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad in combination with razor, October 21, 2010
This review is from: Shower Power Exfoliating Hair Remover Exfoliating Body Cream by Nair, 5.1 Ounce (Misc.)
I bought this partially out of curiosity.

I think I should have put more on, but I did notice that some hair did come off, but not enough to make a dent. I think next time, I'll use more instead of the thin layer that I applied on initially.

I did find however, in combination with just shaving cream and a razor, the hair came off very easily. In fact, I didn't even cut myself (which I have a really bad habit of doing). So I'm assuming if I had used a thicker layer, more would have came off. I like that my legs didn't feel so freaking dry later. :)

If you're expecting a miracle, I wouldn't recommend this wax is probably better), but if you're willing to give it a go, try it!

3.0 out of 5 stars not exactly what i expected..., January 6, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
i bought this and originally was just going to purchase one, but for just a little more than an extra 2 dollars, you can purchase 2 of them, so i thought, why not just go for the 2 pack. I just received it in the mail today with only 1 product in the box. i can't complain too much, because it's about the same price that i would have paid if i got it at the store, however, i did pay the extra money for 2 and did not receive it.
