It works well, April 1, 2008
I have a different perspective on this product than most other people. I had one of the counter-top units a long time ago and actually made my own for the shower using parts from the counter-top unit.
I found the counter-top unit to be too messy. It was very powerful though. The multiple nozzles I had with the counter-top unit were also very nice.
When I decided to adapt that unit to the shower, my primary concern was usefulness. I wouldn't use a counter-top unit very much because of limited counter space and mess. I found it difficult to find parts to adapt that unit to the shower because the hose was very tiny. When I did succeed, the hose would occasionally come undone because of the high pressure.
That brings me to why I purchased this product. I thought it'd be better to have one that the hose wouldn't come lose on occasion. One that the fittings were made for the high pressure.
My pros and cons:
Pros: Product works very well. My mouth almost feels fresh even before I brush.
Hose is connected firmly and will not come lose from the valve. The diameter of hose used also helps with it not coming lose. It's not too tiny.
6' hose is a must. I use it to do a little cleaning.
Cons: I'd prefer a little higher pressure. I was spoiled by the counter unit. (See multiple nozzles)
Various nozzles would be nice. 1) Tongue cleaner, 2) Narrower opening
Aug 17, 2008:
I was writing another review and thought I'd update my other reviews to current status. I am still using the irrigator, though I don't use it daily. Once a week is pretty good for me. I've gotten good remarks from the dentist. In fact, I did use it twice this week for personal hygiene and for general bathroom cleaning once...so this week was a good week.
My wife doesn't like the feel of the irrigator, so she doesn't use it much. If she doesn't like the feel of this unit, she definitely wouldn't have liked the much stronger counter-top unit. At least this one has more of a variable speed.
One big unexpected plus for using this unit is for my dog. She still has bad breath, but I've been able to clean her front teeth. I keep the nozzle away from her mouth and lift up her lips to spray in. I am very careful to not spray much into her mouth, but actually a glancing blow onto her teeth. While I cannot reach the back teeth, I can clean the front teeth enough to make a difference. I do this during the times I give her a bath.

I'm still using the product quite a bit. I've had no problems. I use it for my teeth mainly, but also use it for cleaning grout and cleaning the toilet from a distance. (Yes, I make sure I clean my hands before I touch the oral breeze) I keep getting good remarks from my dentist.

The nozzle base is now coming lose from the hose. My solution will be to cut the hose one inch shorter and reattach the nozzle base. It is still working well. I haven't checked to see if new nozzle have come out. I'd like one that was a "tongue cleaner." Dentists have given me good results so far and I am not that good at brushing after every meal.

There is one more tip that can be ordered for this unit. I have not gotten it yet, but will.
OralBreeze Cannula Tip & Adapter for $14.95 is for deeper cleaning. That should help with one of my cons. I still don't see a tongue cleaner attachment that is available.

Great Product!, July 20, 2007
My doctor recommended I buy a waterpik, but I didn't want to clutter up my sink space...When I saw this, I realized it was the perfect solution! I wouldn't have to deal with the big, noisy, and leaky products already on the market. It also takes away the worry about making a mess at the sink...No problems with instillation and the device works great! I would recommended it to anyone looking for a waterpik!

Only 4 stars because I don't know how well it works...yet, July 23, 2008
Only 4 stars because I haven't had a dental checkup yet...maybe, after meeting with the dentist I'll have to upgrade to 5 stars...
First, let me say I ordered this on 7/18 & received it on 7/21 -- that is fast shipping in my book.
Regarding installation: As others have noted, this was a breeze (pun intended) to set up. Just unscrew existing shower head, screw showerbreeze where old showerhead used to be, then re-screw showerhead to showerbreeze. Simple as that. No tools necessary (well, I needed a wrench to remove my old showerhead, but installing showerbreeze required only hand tightening). Plus, included in the package is plumbers tape which helps prevent leaks (it goes on the metal threads).
Regarding efficacy: I have only been using for a few days, so I have no idea if it will significantly improve dental health. I can, however, comment on my opinions as to how it will improve dental health. The focused spray of water on the gumline seems to be enough force to remove any plaque/debris in between teeth or under the gum line. You can feel the water move underneath the gums and between the teeth (as others have noted, the exact amount of pressure is controlled by a manual valve which allows you to increase/decrease pressure to your desired level). Speaking from a lay perspective, I think this product WILL help with periodontal related issues because of its ability to penetrate into the gumline and irrigate effectively. Furthermore, I think it will benefit those of us who dread flossing everyday; I find myself looking forward to using the OralBreeze in the morning and at night. I don't know if this is recommended to replace flossing, but it certainly can't hurt in conjunction with a regular oral hygiene regime.
Finally, I would say that the 6ft hose is perfect for the shower. I can move around and not feel like I am tethered to a line and forced into uncomfortable positions. I think a 3ft hose might be a little too short. Also, I believe there are other websites that offer a combination of this product and it's sink counterpart (quickbreeze?) at a discount. This might come in handy for those who want to use the showerbreeze, but don't have the inclination to take a shower as well. In any case, the ShowerBreeze turned out to be a nice surprise/purchase. Customer service is also prompt (I emailed oralbreeze and received a response in less than 24hrs -- FYI -> the different colored piks are exactly the same, just different colors).
Buy this product, you won't be disappointed.
