It works well,

I have a different perspective on this product than most other people. I had one of the counter-top units a long time ago and actually made my own for the shower using parts from the counter-top unit.I found the counter-top unit to be too messy. It was very powerful though. The multiple nozzles I had with the counter-top unit were also very nice. When I decided to adapt that unit to the shower, my primary concern was usefulness. I wouldn't use a counter-top unit very much because of limited counter space and mess. I found it difficult to find parts to adapt that unit to the shower because the hose was very tiny. When I did succeed, the hose would occasionally come undone because of the high pressure. That brings me to why I purchased this product. I thought it'd be better to have one that the hose wouldn't come lose on occasion. One that the fittings were made for the high pressure. My pros and cons: Pros: Product works very well. My mouth almost feels fresh even before I brush. Hose is connected firmly and will not come lose from the valve. The diameter of hose used also helps with it not coming lose. It's not too tiny. 6' hose is a must. I use it to do a little cleaning. Cons: I'd prefer a little higher pressure. I was spoiled by the counter unit. (See multiple nozzles) Various nozzles would be nice. 1) Tongue cleaner, 2) Narrower opening Aug 17, 2008: I was writing another review and thought I'd update my other reviews to current status. I am still using the irrigator, though I don't use it daily. Once a week is pretty good for me. I've gotten good remarks from the dentist. In fact, I did use it twice this week for personal hygiene and for general bathroom cleaning once...so this week was a good week. My wife doesn't like the feel of the irrigator, so she doesn't use it much. If she doesn't like the feel of this unit, she definitely wouldn't have liked the much stronger counter-top unit. At least this one has more of a variable speed. One big unexpected plus for using this unit is for my dog. She still has bad breath, but I've been able to clean her front teeth. I keep the nozzle away from her mouth and lift up her lips to spray in. I am very careful to not spray much into her mouth, but actually a glancing blow onto her teeth. While I cannot reach the back teeth, I can clean the front teeth enough to make a difference. I do this during the times I give her a bath. Feb 21, 2009 I'm still using the product quite a bit. I've had no problems. I use it for my teeth mainly, but also use it for cleaning grout and cleaning the toilet from a distance. (Yes, I make sure I clean my hands before I touch the oral breeze) I keep getting good remarks from my dentist. July 16, 2010 The nozzle base is now coming lose from the hose. My solution will be to cut the hose one inch shorter and reattach the nozzle base. It is still working well. I haven't checked to see if new nozzle have come out. I'd like one that was a "tongue cleaner." Dentists have given me good results so far and I am not that good at brushing after every meal. July 30, 2010 There is one more tip that can be ordered for this unit. I have not gotten it yet, but will. OralBreeze Cannula Tip & Adapter for $14.95 is for deeper cleaning. That should help with one of my cons. I still don't see a tongue cleaner attachment that is available.

Only 4 stars because I don't know how well it works...yet,

Only 4 stars because I haven't had a dental checkup yet...maybe, after meeting with the dentist I'll have to upgrade to 5 stars...First, let me say I ordered this on 7/18 & received it on 7/21 -- that is fast shipping in my book. Regarding installation: As others have noted, this was a breeze (pun intended) to set up. Just unscrew existing shower head, screw showerbreeze where old showerhead used to be, then re-screw showerhead to showerbreeze. Simple as that. No tools necessary (well, I needed a wrench to remove my old showerhead, but installing showerbreeze required only hand tightening). Plus, included in the package is plumbers tape which helps prevent leaks (it goes on the metal threads). Regarding efficacy: I have only been using for a few days, so I have no idea if it will significantly improve dental health. I can, however, comment on my opinions as to how it will improve dental health. The focused spray of water on the gumline seems to be enough force to remove any plaque/debris in between teeth or under the gum line. You can feel the water move underneath the gums and between the teeth (as others have noted, the exact amount of pressure is controlled by a manual valve which allows you to increase/decrease pressure to your desired level). Speaking from a lay perspective, I think this product WILL help with periodontal related issues because of its ability to penetrate into the gumline and irrigate effectively. Furthermore, I think it will benefit those of us who dread flossing everyday; I find myself looking forward to using the OralBreeze in the morning and at night. I don't know if this is recommended to replace flossing, but it certainly can't hurt in conjunction with a regular oral hygiene regime. Finally, I would say that the 6ft hose is perfect for the shower. I can move around and not feel like I am tethered to a line and forced into uncomfortable positions. I think a 3ft hose might be a little too short. Also, I believe there are other websites that offer a combination of this product and it's sink counterpart (quickbreeze?) at a discount. This might come in handy for those who want to use the showerbreeze, but don't have the inclination to take a shower as well. In any case, the ShowerBreeze turned out to be a nice surprise/purchase. Customer service is also prompt (I emailed oralbreeze and received a response in less than 24hrs -- FYI -> the different colored piks are exactly the same, just different colors). Buy this product, you won't be disappointed.

Easy to use - but keep it on low,

Easy to install, easy to use. Nice to do something this mundane while relaxing in the shower. Be cautious, though. My hygienist warned me to use low pressure, and to keep the irrigator moving. Don't stop in one place too long.

This review is from: ShowerBreeze w/ 6' Hose Water Jet Dental Irrigator (Health and Beauty)
There are lots of great reviews here, and my 5-stars points to me loving this item, as well, so I will try to point out some different things than other reviews:1. The unit I received has a tightly coiled hose, not a straight one as seen in the current photo. (maybe the straight is from their 3' model?) I think the coiled is more convenient, as it "stores" easily. 2. When using mine, I can only turn the diverter maybe halfway, before the pressure is too strong for my gums. This allows the water to continue to flow from my showerhead. If you like this, great (you can still have warm water on your body, while you "breeze"); If you don't like this, here is a solution: use a a low-flow showerhead (1.5 or 2 gpm - they may be harder to find, but are worth it) and make sure the showerhead has a "pause" option. Both of mine do and I just use that when I want the water to stop (or slow significantly, when shaving, etc.) 3. The ShowerBreeze is also great for cleaning "nooks and crannies" in your shower (soap dishes, holding bars, gunk on shampoo container lids); and it feels good to spray on my toes, too. On low pressure it might be helpful when cleaning under your fingernails (mechanics, painters, potters, etc) 4. I have noticed a significant improvement in my overall oral health and well-being. As "proof" of this, I visited my dentist twice: a month before I received my ShowerBreeze and a month after I began using it. I take pretty good care of the things in my mouth, but the month before I began "Breezing" I still had some deeper pockets (4's, as they call them at the dentist's office) around some molars. I was happy to discover that a month after I began "Breezing", my 4's had turned to 3's and 2's, and I got high marks from the dentist on overall oral health. The only thing I changed in that timeframe was that I began "Breezing". 5. It is very easy to install. I did it myself (couldn't wait for my beau to install). The directions were thorough, in plain english, with diagrams and the company even sent me a "welcome email" with a video, too! 6. I don't use the hangey-uppy thing. I just put my tips on my wire shower caddy, and hang the hose there, too. 7. I like my ShowerBreeze so much that I bought a RediBreeze for when I go on vacation! I have found Oral Breeze to be a great company and have even purchased directly from them when others on Amazon were selling the Oral Breeze products at a lower cost (or, right now, a higher cost). For the best service (as indicated by feedback score, and personal purchasing experience), make sure you are buying yours from Oral Breeze (the listing will say: "Sold by Oral Breeze, Inc." under the words "In Stock" on the Product Page) I can say, from personal experience, Oral Breeze supports their customers and has always responded to me quickly and thoroughly when I have contacted them. It's rare that I am so happy with a company or a product. I rely on reviews here at Amazon to help me make informed buying choices. I hope this review has helped you in the same manner. If you voted this as helpful, I Thank You! :)

Works great--remember to floss!,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love this product--I got it knowing that bacteria and plaque trapped under my gumline was generating bad breath. Irrigating my gums flushes out the bacteria and has clearly strengthened my gums.Just remember, dental irrigation is not a replacement for flossing. Even though irrigation removes quite a bit of the bacteria and plaque, it doesn't get the particularly tough plaque, which will build up gradually if you don't floss and don't visit your dental hygienist for regular cleanings.

Installation Process Needs Review,

This review is from: ShowerBreeze w/ 6' Hose Water Jet Dental Irrigator (Health and Beauty)
I read all the glowing reviews on the sink and shower models and was impressed with the comments and high marks given for the vendor's handling of customer concerns. My review is in two parts. installation and functionality.Installation: First, prior to receiving the items (I was so impressed I ordered two (2) shower units w/ 6' hose lines)I received an email from the vendor with a PDF attached. It contained instruction on installation, how to use, disclaimers, warranty information and a installation video which failed to work on my PC. There was a excellent diagram and clear written instructions. With numerous "do not use a wrench to tighten" notifications. So I followed the instructions using the plumbers tape and screwing on the diverter valve (c) on HAND TIGHT. The problem lies here. In this hand tight position the nipple on the diverter which the hose line (f)connects too is pointing almost straight up resulting in a critical bend in the hose line at that connection point. Backing off to have the nipple in a better position caused leakage in the connections. In my opinion an unacceptable outcome. My solution, surely I must have missed a rubber gasket. Must be in the box, nope. No mention of one in the instructions either. A gasket would allow for some play in the tightening process for a more suitable position of the nipple (downward)and prevented leaking. As a disabled Lieutenant Fire/Rescue I have had to limit my driving and travels to once or twice a week but I had to make an exception because I wanted them installed and tested before my wife came home from work. So after a painful trip to the big box hardware store for some gaskets I returned home and after 15 minutes had them both installed and tested. Not including the first two hours of trying to install the units and including the trip to the store the installation was easy. As I mentioned I am a retired firefighter. One of the first things you learn in the academy is to check for a gasket in you hose line connections. Metal on metal requires a gasket. Two common complaints I came across while reading the customer reviews was the hose breaking at the nipple most likely due to a critical bend from the nipple pointing upwards and leakage around the connections due to the diverter being backed off so the nipple is pointing downwards being less stressful on the hose line. Both of these scenarios could be avoided if the vendor had provided a gasket. Functionality: I am use to handling bigger hose lines but this was flowing like a miniature fire hose off a pumper. (water pressure may vary) After a few valve adjustments I had a comfortable but effective water flow. My gums felt tingly and rejuvenated and I could feel a smoothness to my teeth. I see the dentist this March and will update. Conclusion: well built, quality hose line. Vendor needs to throw in a gasket.

I have gums again AMAZING product!!!!,
This product is short of a miracle. Been using it for 3 months since my last dentist appointment. At follow-up visit this week my hygienist and dentist did a double-take and said if they didn't know better they'd of thought I had oral surgery! Got a clean bill of health for 1st time in 5 years of every 3 months cleaning intervals with no success in treating my periodontal disease; at least not until now. Bottom line: but this now and spread the word. Should be malpractice for dentists not to recommend this product to patients.

Fantastic Customer Service,

I want to personally thank you for sending me the extra tip holders. I made a casual observation in my feedback that you couldn't move the holder once you affixed it to the shower stall. I never expected you to send me another. I am blown away by your customer service. Truly, I don't know what to say except thank you and that I wish every business on the WEB was run as efficient and honestly as yours.
