Todo es cuestión de retos. Y es así que dos amigos deciden aventurarse y grabar una pista de reggaeton, pero poco sabían que la misma los adentraría al mundo de la música a nivel profesional. Khriz creció escuchando la música de artistas de hip-hop como The Wu Tang Clan y Cypress Hill. De lírica en lírica, su deseo de ser rapero se tornaba cada vez más profundo. Eventualmente, conoció a Ángel a través de unas amistades de la escuela y dentro de poco sus vidas se verían alteradas. Ángel tenía más influencias de salsa y reggaeton. Sus primeros pasos los dio junto a un joven cantante, conocido hoy en día como John Eric, pero los dos jóvenes no estaban preparados aún para los altibajos de la industria de la música, por lo que decidieron retirarse momentáneamente de la música. Un día, Ángel se encuentra casualmente con un productor de discos al cual le cuenta sobre su pasado musical y sin darse cuenta había sido invitado para grabar un tema. De inmediato llamó a su amigo Khriz y juntos escribieron y grabaron la canción que los ayudaría a crear una gran expectativa dentro del género del reggaeton y colaborar en otros proyectos de varios artistas del género. Y así nació el dúo Ángel y Khriz. Pronto cautivaron el público en Puerto Rico, El Caribe y Latinoamérica. Tenían la fanaticada pero faltaba lo más importante: una producción musical. De ahí es que sale el disco `Los MVP's', donde su primer sencillo `Ven Báilalo' acaparó la audiencia radial desde Chile hasta Estados Unidos y España, siendo este tema nominado a múltiples premiaciones como Billboard Latinos, Furia Musical, entre otros. No pasó mucho tiempo para que se ganaran el título de los MVP, ya que sus ritmos tan contagiosos y sus líricas pegajosas conquistaron la fanaticada a través del globo. La gira no se hizo esperar y Chile, República Dominicana, España, Honduras, y Colombia fueron los primeros países en abrirle las puertas. Luego de un año lleno de exitosas presentaciones, notaciones y premios, el afamado dúo se centró en grabar lo que sería su segunda producción discográfica. Tras la firma de un contrato exclusivo con los sellos VI Music y Machete Music, lanzarán el próximo mes de noviembre el disco `Showtime'. "Estamos trabajando fuerte para lanzar por todo lo alto esta producción que tanto los fans han estado esperando", comenta Ángel. Khriz por su parte entiende que "en este disco estamos más enfocados en los gustos musicales del mundo. Estamos experimentando muchos estilos de música que tal vez antes no nos atrevíamos a trabajar". `Showtime' será lanzado a nivel internacional el próximo 11 de Marzo y contará con la producción de Santana, Nelly y Barbosa. De igual forma el disco contará con colaboraciones de varios artistas sorpresa. I make no secret that I love the musical portions of Reggaeton more than the rapping portions. Don't get me wrong--a cleverly written, hard hitting rhyme will always keep me coming back, but when it is coupled with catchy music, I am hooked. Angel y Kris here have done exactly what I love--they've given a fun, flashy, danceable Reggaeton album with great grooves and good rhymes. To be fair, I should let you know where I am coming from: I don't care for don Omar, I really enjoy Wisin y Yandel, Daddy Yankee, and Chino y Nacho. If you enjoy these duos as well, then this disc will likely appeal to you. Production is interesting and keeps the songs varied even if the beats can be a little homogenous. There is some obvious salsa influence, which I regard as a plus. Overall, a very enjoyable disc. I'm giving it 5 stars because it succeeds remarkably at what it sets out to do--be a fun, danceable CD of Reggaeton music. If you are looking for something along the lines of Cafe Tacvba, then this is not it.

I purchased this album on amazon in 2008 just after it was released and have played it quite a bit on my CD players. I think this is their best work 'til now. I even like it better than their debut album (which was great 2, btw).
It's not your typical "hardcore" reggaeton style but a mix of different kind of spanish stylez (also some pop inspired songs). Normally I don't like the more popisque-kind-of-songs, but the ones found on this album are great to listen to, IMO. It's not to be compared to don omars Idon (which is just very bad). I agree with the statement of a reviewer who said that almost $15 for this album is kinda overprized. As said, even tho I like this album ( and still do 'til this day) I don't know if I would have bought it for $15 back then. I got it for $9.99. I would just wait if I were some of y'all: prices go up and down almost every other day. Cheers.

This cd is pretty qood but kinda plays out the whole reggaeton beat. While Wisin y Yandel pull out new beats they kinda stick to the same one that is becoming quite redundant. Overall if your looking for a party cd for backdrop music well here is the way to go i guess.
