About the Author

Thomas Jacob Noel is a professor of history at the University of Colorado at Denver & Health and Sciences Center. He teaches, among other things, Colorado Studies, Historic Preservation, and Western Art & Architecture. He has a BA in history and an MA in Library Science from the University of Denver as well as an MA and PhD in history from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He served as a chair of the Denver Landmark Preservation Commission and is currently a National Register Review Board Member for Colorado. Amy Zimmer is a writer and historian specializing in the history and architecture of Denver. She is a recipient of CU-Denver's Ward and Wynkoop Prizes in Public History.
