I bought this shredder because I needed a small machine to fit in a cupboard. The size is good for me and I find that it shreds well. However, here are a few things you should keep in mind:

1. The 7-sheet shred capacity is misleading. In order to shred a sheet of paper, you need to fold it in thirds. That gives you three layers, which for the purposes of this shredder, would be 3 "sheets." If you stack 2 pieces of paper and fold them in thirds, you get 6 "sheets." The shredder will handle this, but it can't do any more than that. So it's really a 2-sheet capacity shredder.

2. The power switch is not labeled very clearly. It's hard to tell what mode the machine is on.

3. You need to empty the shredder bin quite often, and open it frequently to tamp down the paper shreds. Otherwise, the shredded paper will get pulled back up into the mechanism and jam it. Emptying the shred bin and running the shredder in reverse for a while will clear it. I've had this same problem with full size shredders too, but since the shred bin on this one is so small, you need to empty it more often.

Other than the things I mentioned above, I find this shredder to be useful for shredding the occasional credit card offer. It fits nicely inside a cabinet shelf.

This tabletop shredder with a detachable drawer is very conveniant with a powerful motor for its size.Being smaller legal size documents need to be folded in half to shred,but everything I attempted to shred worked,credit cards,staples and layers of paper .Good value and extremely space saving and neat. This was all true unfortunately it only lasted a month.

I looked around for a shredder that wouldn't jam for home use. Also didn't want to spend a fortune for it. Mainly used for junk mail, bank statements, etc. I love the shredder shark and it works beautifully. I immediately cleaned up my work space and can depend on this machine to destroy personal information. I recommend this product.

i took a chance on this one and regret it now. this was new in the box and arrived with a clean damage free package. it was alll downhill from there though. once i opened the box i saw there was a hole in the plastic, right in the center of the lid. not like it got cracked or damaged in any way, but like the quality was just that bad. the plastic casting of the lid was so thin that it acually left a hole in this spot. i would have overlooked that if the device at least worked .......AT ALL !!! but no such luck. the slide switch that operates the entire unit was jammed in the reverse position. cant do much shredding like that. so i sent it back for a refund, which i did recieve.

This shredder seemed so powerful. I loved it and then it stopped in less than two months.

I'm very pleased with this shredder. It's quiet (compared to others I've had) and efficient. Everything they said it was.

Having had problems with other shredders in the past, I was very careful not to overload it, shredding only one page at a time (though it boasts a 7 page capacity). Still, it ceased working after only 3 uses (about 20 pages shredded). The sliding button stuck and would no longer move to the on position. It would only move backwards to the reverse position. Another hunk of heavy junk for the electronics recycling pile.

I just received this shredder and was totally disappointed even when I did not plug this into a receptacle.
The description says that it shreds seven(7) sheets, CD, DVD etc. but no where it says hat the paper must not be more than 4.5 inch wide, i.e. either you can shed envelopes only or take extra time to fold the paper into half length wise to shred it.
I would recommend this shredder for those who just want to shred couple of pages a day.
I have purchased many items from Amazon.com and this the first disappointed item which I will return.

its the first time to buy this item. yes it cross cuts the paper and also it has a short cut life span. i bought this feb 6 and after a month its not working, no power, plus you still have to fold the paper in half so it will fit the shredder. its not worth returning it as you will only pay for the s/h. rather buy a shredder from a supermarket nearby so you guys can still return it without spending for shipping and handling.

I bought this shredder to replace one I'd had for quite some time. I used the shredder once. I went to use it a second time and it would not turn on. It would not work at all. It worked fine the one time I used it. I only shredded a few sheets of paper the one time I was able to use it. It's not worth the money.
