Best family game I've seen,

= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Shrek 2 (Video Game)
This is not a game for "serious gamers" but it's a great family game, especially for families with children of different ages who like to play games together. Being a cooperative game makes it a lot more fun to play with people of varying skill levels. It's easy enough that my 4 year old can play, but challenging enough that older kids and parents may have to try over and over to complete the "hero time" quests. My kids enjoy replaying it even though we've already finished the game. I wish there were more games like this that encourage cooperative play. My only compaint is that the "puzzle-solving" aspect might be a little too easy.

Perfect fun for the younger set,
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Shrek 2 (Video Game)
Shrek 2 was an amazingly funny movie, with all of the wit and graphic animation of the first. The game Shrek 2 is obviously geared towards kids, but is great fun too.
The game lets you be one of four characters - Shrek, Fiona, Donkey and the Gingerbread Man. Each character has his or her strengths and weaknesses, and the graphics are rather nicely done. Shrek lands with a hard THUD, Fiona floats gently to the ground, and so on. You can play multi-player, or solo, easily switching between characters if you wish. This is great for family play, where parents can hop in to help out with a difficult puzzle, or just wander along behind the child to be there in case of trouble. Most of the game is about collecting items and solving simple puzzles. You slam on snails to get them out of their shells and get eyeballs. You slow down time so you can gather up the fairies. All along, there are fun jokes and riddles to keep you entertained. Not all games have to be high brainpower puzzles or super-fast lightning reflex challenges. Sometimes it's nice to have a simple game that kids can really enjoy. I'm really pleased that this game is out there. Highly recommended for the younger set, and parents might actually enjoy playing along with the tykes.

A nice game....,

This review is from: Shrek 2 (Video Game)
This was a fun game, even thought it was a bit short. It was fairly easy, but entertaining. I enjoyed being able to play all the different charaters. Little Red and Puss 'n Boots were my favorite for their attacks. I think young kids will really get a kick out of it, but serious gamers would probably pass on it unless they really, really love Shrek 2. (...)it's definately worth renting from the video store. Be careful though, too many hours of gameplay can temporarily fry your Gamecube because the game moves at such high RPM(it's got a lot of high end graphics and cut scenes).
