Buggy, not so child Friendly!,

Buggy. Few games are unlocked to start with and they ARE NOT EASY for kids. My 6 year old daughter keeps trying and it keeps calling her a "LOSER".
The controls are very buggy for several of the games. Children can't move the controller enough to make the movements work on the game. My husband keeps having to do the bean bag toss for our 6 year old because her arms are too short to register movements on the game. She doesn't have this problem on other games. There is nothing educational about it either. I expected it to be more friendly for a kids' games. Overall - It LEAVES a LOT to be desired.

good artwork & cute for kids, but has bugs & lazy game mechanics programming,

I rented this & played it for about 90 min. from BlockBstr. (I'm so glad blockbstr & gamefly exist for renting!)
presentation - artwork was nicely done, graphics done pretty well, the videos cut scenes were fine, the voice overs were good, especially the Mirror (host) & Disney style trash talking from the characters in the game towards each other or at the player controlling them. Such as, "did you fall asleep?", "Great job", "Oh, that was bad" "I'm going to win, donkey" "I'll beat you, Shrek", etc. Unfortunately there is only a limited amount of them & it can get annoying, though better then nothing. In the games there are always 4 characters even if 3 are AI (yes, you can skip the AI turns). Menu/options - menu is simple, you choose a character (Fiona, one of babies, charming, etc.). It has multi-player & tournament besides the career/story mode to unlock the games. There are 6 different sections with the last being locked. Each section has about 5 games & 2 or 3 which are locked. The game seems to skewed towards letting the player win over the A.I. Several games have shooting by targeting & then flick of the wrist as well as a lot of running, or even just pumping the nunchuck or wii remote in a game to get power such as hammer throw in strength test. bugs - The 1st time I rented, the hoopla which is a javelin game you run & then using wii remote turning you guide it through flaming hoops as it sails to a target pic of prince charming. playing as baby of Shrek, I couldn't win after many attempts, but when I played at fiona, I had no problem wining the first time. in the hammer throw I couldn't get the power meter up & in a tricycle around a track, I couldn't steer, though luckily you can't fall off & I won easily anyhow. In climbing Rapunzel's hair, I had no trouble moving w/baby, but using Fiona it wouldn't register even button pushes. the bowling w/hitting wooden dwarfs w/melons I couldn't do more then a very weak throw. when I was back at the menu, I lost the pointer/IR totally. thinking a fluke, I tried shooting game that beat previously easily & that wouldn't register. I restarted the wii 2x & it still would not work. I took out the disk, but a totally different shooting game disc & that worked fine. The game does get boring though from repetition, too simple gameplay & it's too easy, though it has a few gem ideas like hoopla/javelin & a pong/soccer game. it is colorful, upbeat, cute w/humor, but the game programing is feels lazily done. this game would be good for young kids who like Shrek & can get this at a bargain price. Edit: I rented this again at a diff blckbuster & all the games I didn't play or finish worked fine. The melon bowling was incredibly easy.

Gameplay is poor with very rudimentary controls and repetitive actions. Since the controls for the various competitions are so repetitive, the game quickly becomes mundane. Story line is fairly non-existent. The difficulty level is high for young players. You must repeat the same limited actions over and over (very quickly) in each mini-game to have success. No logic is involved... In a word -> Lame

I bought this as my first Wii game and I was SOOOO disappointed the graphics are horrible. It looks like an old school Atari game. It's also not sensitive enough so you would have to have an unlimited amount of time to master the movements just to make it interesting enough to play. There are so many games out there that are better. Buy Carnival Games instead!!! *SMILE*

Games are very difficult to play, the instructions for each game are very vague & it is very difficult to figure what action on the controllers is actually going to make the game go.

HORRIBLE & Not Kid Friendly,

Like everyone else lamented, the games are very difficult to control -- except bowling and the bean bag race. The others are either "locked" so you can't play them at all or the instructions are so vague that its frustrating to play. Nice graphics, but not kid friendly and easily frustrates children and their parents alike.

I have a hard time doing the games and using the controls with this game, the time it takes for each mini game to load is excessive, and the graphics are overdone and distracting. Of course, if you throw the remotes around enough, you can win each game very easily but what is the fun in winning when you aren't even sure what you are doing with the controls or trying. Forget letting the kids play the games, way too hard to control. Sadly disappointed...wish I would've not bought it.

This game is terrible! Don't buy it!,

This game is not great. In story mode only one player can play, hard for young children to take turns and this is supposed to be a kid friendly game. I hate it when you buy a game, it says 4 players can play, and then you find out it's only in challenge mode for only a few games (mater international and wii fishing is the same). In tournament mode you can play up to 4 players, but it only lets you play a few games. Also, if you don't have 4 real players and have to play against the computer you may have trouble winning. For example, if you play the game where you have to turn the gingerbread men to match the symbol and you are behind, the game will freeze you out and the higher scoring computer controlled characters continue to play and win, and you just sit there unable to do anything. The controls are terrible to respond, they don't turn with any great accuracy making it hard to win. In the snake ring toss you try to aim at the dwarves heads and throw and my kids keep missing, me too. When you do the tricyle race if you are behind you can't see your character! Melon throw is soooo not interesting. This game should be taken off the market!

I thought this would be a great game seeing how I like Sherk.. I was so freaking wrong. Some of the games are ok, others are either really hard or so LAME. I don't know how this even became a game. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

I bought this game thinking it would be fun for my 5 and 7 year old boys as they love Shrek. Not so much. They could only get a few of the games to work even when using the remote actions they showed. It was very frustrating and the boys lost interest quickly. Even my husband and I had difficulty with some of the games. This will be traded in for something more child-friendly.
