For those who have Neon Golden, August 13, 2003
I was introduced to The Notwist through Neon Golden. If you enjoy Neon Golden, you really must pick up Shrink. It's a bit edgier and darker, but the humans behind the electronics are clearly felt. Also, there is a definite jazz influence - two tracks are jazzy instrumentals, and one or two others have a heavy influence. It adds a cool liquid tone to the art as a whole. That's really the point I'm driving at - Neon Golden is a day trip to the park, while Shrink is a dip in the lake at night. Having heard both, I now recommend that anyone with either Shrink or Neon Golden should get the other as soon as possible.

Amazing album from one of the best bands out there!, January 27, 2004

This review is from: Shrink (Audio CD)
This album is incredible. If you picked up NEON GOLD and are a fan of that than you should definetly check this cd out. It's a little darker and more organic than Neon Gold but it is still very emotive, lush music. They are truly an amazing electronic/Alternative band. I can't wait to hear more from them! Highlights on this album include DAY 7, CHEMICALS, Electric Bear, and NO ENCORES.

I WANT MORE!!, September 28, 2001
This is without a doubt one of the most phenomenal and creative records I have ever had the pleasure of listening to in my many years as a music fan. I purchased this cd without really knowing what to expect. I bought The Notwist's prior 12 release, which is a solid album on it's own but is really helped by the Loop EP that accompanied it. The album was mainly moderate to heavy rock and definitely had its strong points, but the Loop Ep was a wonderful mix of rock, remix, and experimentation. So when I saw Shrink at my local cd retailer, I figured why not take a chance. And what a lucky move that was. Shrink is experimental rock at its finest. It's a magnetic blend of instrument and technology that touches on various musical styles ranging from indie rock to jazz, and the vocals are both creepy and inspiring. This is a must for any fan of experimental rock such as Radiohead's "Kid A", Doves' "Lost Souls", and Swell's "Everybody Wants to Know". Check out the tracks "Day 7", "Chemicals", and "Electric Bear". I just hope this is not the last we've heard from The Notwist. If you're out there, I WANT MORE!!!!
