Good Heartfealt Hard Rock,

This is another work of art by Oleander. To me, their best work by far is the "Unwind" album. The song "Jimmy Shakur Day" here is from that "Unwind" record. This band is not heavy metal and neither is this cd. Considering that, this is not light rock or pop either. It is more comparable in style to bands like Candlebox, Collective Soul, and Black Lab. If you like this, check out Black Lab's "Your Body Above Me".

One of the better albums this year!,

Reminiscent of Nirvana "B"-sides with a flare of HUM. Exceleent musical choice considering today's selection of over glamorized rapping metal bands and overdubbed hip-hop.

Oleander is comprised of four Sacramento guys who have worked hard for years playing music and really have their act together. Great live band, expect quality rock from these guys for a long time. Shrinking the Blob is just a glimpse of what lies ahead for Oleander.

I have had this CD since I picked it up at one of thier shows when they were still back home in sacto. If it ever becomes availible again, BUY IT. You will not regret it a bit. If not, BUY FEBRUARY SON. They a not only the best new band of the year, they are the nicest bunch of guys I have ever met. Check them out on thier tour and tell Ric "Kyle says hi"!!!

I have been to many Oleander concerts, and have loved each one, we have watched the members of the band learn to deal with the success that they have earned. Glad you guys made it. Don't forget about us here in Sacramento.

It arrived yesterday (couldn't find it in Canada - glad I ordered it!), and I am blown away. I bought it after hearing a 30 second clip here at Amazon, and am truly impressed! Not one of those CD's that litter my house as coasters, cuz I only liked one song... This one is a keeper for sure! All the tracks have a cool groove, and you especially gotta love "Boys Don't Cry" and "Why I'm Here". Good job!
