Shubb makes several different versions of their style of capo, of which I own two. I have found that this particular model (GC-20E) tends to bend the top string or two rather sharp meaning that one has to adjust their tuning every time putting this capo on or taking it off. This is obviously difficult when using it live. I'd recommend one of their other models (perhaps the GC-20A or the C1) which have a flatter top piece and apply pressure more evenly across the strings.

First & Last Capo you will ever purchase,
This review is from: Shubb C4 Electric Guitar Capo in Nickel (Electronics)
I purchased my first Shubb capo over 20 years ago. It still looks and operates like new. When it came time to purchase a capo for my son who just started on the guitar, it was an easy choice. They are built incredibly well. In the event that you damage or wear out a rubber piece you can buy the replacement pieces from Schubb. I'm not a professional player but I can't imagine wearing out this capo even with daily use unless you're not using it correctly. My guess is you will lose it long before you wear it out. I don't like spring loaded capos. It's just another thing to break and they are difficult for young or older hands to squeeze. Plus, they either stick up too high on the top or back side. The Schubb capo "hugs" the neck so you barely know it's there. I do use two hands when placing this capo on the fretboard. I hold it in position with my right hand and push the back lever down with my left to lock it in place. How many players place a capo on the neck mid-song? I never have. If you do regularly, your parents must be really proud. :) You can easily remove it with one hand. The pressure screw can be micro adjusted so it applies the perfect amount of pressure. Other capos place a death grip on the neck causing premature wear on the strings and frets. One other "issue" I have heard mentioned is that this capo is difficult to clip to the guitar headpiece. This is true on my guitar. However, I don't like items hanging on my guitar. Maybe some guitarists think it looks cool. I don't. It's small so you can drop it into your shirt pocket, leave it on your music stand or hang it on your ear if you need to get to it that quickly! Less than $20 and lasts a lifetime- easy choice.

I used to use an elasticized/rubber capo but it stretched out. This Shubb product is not going to wear out or lose its effectiveness. Pay the extra $5 for a quality product and have that whole "capo problem" solved for a lifetime.

I had never used a capo before and found this one really easy to put on and take off of my guitar. You'll need it if you want to 'play along with the record' on some recordings.

I have a Fender Standard Stratocaster. This capo works fine on it. It doesn't sound out of tune when I put it on as long as it's attached on top of a fret.
