This review is from: Shug: The Life and Times of Auburns Ralph 'Shug' Jordan (Hardcover)
This book is the only biography of Ralph "Shug" Jordan, former Head Coach of the Auburn University football team. Coach Jordan graduated from and played football at Auburn and eventually retuned to become the head football coach, turning around a once-proud program that had fallen upon hard times to a national champion in 7 years. This is an in-depth look at his life that any college football fan would enjoy.

This review is from: Shug: The Life and Times of Auburns Ralph 'Shug' Jordan (Hardcover)
This is an excellent book about the legendary coach at Auburn University. Coach Jordan was committed to the players first as students and then as athletes. He was the true southern gentleman in every sense of the word. The book also tells of his service to his country, earning a purple heart and bronze star for his service in WWII. He saw action in several key battles including the D-Day invasion of Normandy. Auburn football and Auburn University owe much to Coach Jordan. The book is well written and should be a must read for all Auburn Football Fans. |
