5.0 out of 5 stars Great little touch-up tool
I used this for the first time and discovered how much easier it was to use than the traditional manner of "brush and paint can" for small touch-ups. It worked great on small areas, but would not be suitable for "long-over due" touch-ups where walls are badly scuffed. For the little mark here and there, it worked wonders! Watch out for the occassional excess paint coming...

3.0 out of 5 stars It's okay....but
After reading reviews on this item here I decided to go out and buy it after a recent painting project. I found it adequate but not really deserving of the hype. Yes, it will store your paint, but so would any air tight container. Yes, it has a roller attached to use, but it isn't that easy to clean-up afterwards so that it is good to go next time you use it. Finally, it...

I used this for the first time and discovered how much easier it was to use than the traditional manner of "brush and paint can" for small touch-ups. It worked great on small areas, but would not be suitable for "long-over due" touch-ups where walls are badly scuffed. For the little mark here and there, it worked wonders! Watch out for the occassional excess paint coming out the dispenser hole. Also, over carpet (or other stainable items) it would be good to have a drip catcher underneath. After all, you are PAINTING and paint will drip no matter what you use! I plan to purchase one for every color of paint in my house! Used properly and with care, this should be the means to end scuffs on your walls!

5.0 out of 5 stars Paint buddy is great, July 23, 2006
This review is from: Rubbermaid 57930 Paint Buddy (Tools & Home Improvement)
The paint buddy is truely a great tool to have around. I have a two year old and he bumps the walls and his toys leave marks on walls and the paint buddy is great for that task. It is also great when suitcases brush against the wall from visitors. covers the smudges right up. I have had mine over a year and the paint lasts, it doesn't dry up. You will see separation in the paint but you shake it well before you use it and it works great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy Touch Ups!, July 13, 2009

I've been using the Rubbermaid Paint Buddys since 2003. I keep one for every paint color in my home. I ask for an extra label when I have my paints mixed and put that label on my Paint Buddy in the event I need to order more paint. Touch ups are a breeze! I haven't had my paint dry up in one yet! Just be careful when priming the roller that you do not squeeze too tightly or it will ooze more paint than you wanted!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the Paintbuddy, March 29, 2008

The paintbuddy is great for little scuffs and marks on the wall! I have not had any problems with leaking as some of the other reviewers reported. I have had one for almost two years and use it once every 3-4 months and I feel like it works better than brush touch ups---I can see the brush strokes. The paintbuddy is a roller and it seems like it blends in better (I always use a roller when I initially paint a room). When you are done using the paint buddy, it is easy to clean up the roller and parts to store it for the next use. I want one for every room, but the paint buddy is just too pricey for that. I decided to just get one for the main rooms of the house where we tend to need the most touch ups.

Yes, it will store your paint, but so would any air tight container. Yes, it has a roller attached to use, but it isn't that easy to clean-up afterwards so that it is good to go next time you use it. Finally, it is terrible for tight spaces or getting close in to clean up an edge. I tried it to clean up where I had cut in the wall and ceiling paint. I had a number of boo boos. This item does not get close enough to fix them. In the end, I decided that any clear air tight container and a set of artist brushes would work better and would be easier to clean up afterward.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love My Paint Buddy, October 14, 2009

I have a Paint Buddy for every room color in my house and I absolutely love it!!! It's great for that small blemish that just bugs the heck out of you, but you're too lazy to pull out a big can of paint. With the Paint Buddy I stay on top of my wall blemishes and I'm ecstatic. The top pops off and the roller is so easy to clean. I've had this system for over 2 years now and I've only replaced the roller once. I highly recommend this product. Although I originally purchased this product from Lowe's, I got the additional ones from Amazon. After much research, Amazon had the best price.

I love these things, they are great for quick touch-ups to paint! They are not for painting large areas but for those little life dings.

I originally spotted this product while in a Lowes store one day when looking for ideas to paint the ends of prefinished Hardie plank siding. I am a contractor and have had great difficulty using the paint applicators that are supplied by Hardie. They wear out quickly, long before they run out of paint, and it takes about 4-6 of them per house. Hardie is glad to sell them to you for $20+ each, but with the Paint Buddy, at about $9, plus a quart of color match paint from any paint store, I can do a complete job and with some care, I can do 3 jobs of the same color before the quart runs out. You will have to replace the roller each job, it is easy to do, but even still, it saves me over $100 per job.

This may not have been the intended use for this product, but it has been a great find.

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest time saving gadget., September 1, 2008
This review is from: Rubbermaid 57930 Paint Buddy (Tools & Home Improvement)
This little gadget has saved me so much time & hassle since repainting the kid's rooms. With the constant wall banging & moving of shelves & pictures, Paint Buddy is the easiest way to touch up paint when repairing plastered holes and damage.
No more rummaging through piles of caked over paint cans, stirring, brushes & cleanup. I just shake the bottle, pop off the top, flip to open, roll over area. Clean-up is sooo easy- just flip tab to close, and rinse the roller clean. You can pop the top off & change the roller, but I have never needed to. I have not had a leak or any dried paint with 4 bottles over the 3 years that I have used the product. Just bought 3 more for my bedroom & den make-over.
