I bought these blocks for my 5 and 7 year old boys. They love them! They make their own buildings and there's also a really cool website that my older one goes to and designs structures for us to recreate with the blocks. As a mom, it's hard to find something educational and fun we can do together - but this set manages it! The book is interesting for me and my kids - full of great info & pics - and the blocks are really beautiful and really high quality. Highly recommended!

This is the most unique, beautiful, and high quality building block set I've ever seen. My 7 year old even loves to read the book! It is full of kid friendly historical facts that correlate with the illustrations on the wooden blocks. He can build anything he wants, which he does most of the time, but the book also has instructions on how to recreate historial structures, which interested my husband! This is a fun and educational way for the family to spend time together.

I've purchased this toy for my almost 7 year old son and its a sensation!
These are a fantastic construction toy and highly educational because the book that comes along with the blocks includes a series of facts about architecture, architectural history and symbolism; the book has a child friendly design with bright illustrations.
As the perfect touch the book also includes in the last page a guide of how to arrange all the blocks back in the case!! As a parent you'll understand how important this is.
The quality and design of the product is very good.
I find it a great a toy for all ages (from 5-99, an Architect friend of mine is dying to buy one!), I'm personally delighted playing with it and I think that's the main idea, that parents can spend time playing with their kids in something both parties can enjoy.
My son loves it and he can follow the built ideas very easily.
It also includes an ID card that you can use on the product website (haven't visited yet) but I'm sure its worth seen it.
I highly recommend any of these ArchiQuest sets (they come in various sizes and themes, I purchased the biggest one). They are the perfect gift idea for parents that want to add more value into their kids play and also a cool gift for an adult.

I really want to give the Archiquest blocks a 5, but I cannot reward the manufacturer's poor attention to quality. We bought a smaller set of blocks 6 months ago, the Kings and Castle set. My son LOVES these blocks. They are absolutely beautiful. He has built all types of structures, integrating story telling with characters from other playsets. They really are works of art to look at. A month ago, we thought we would expand the collection and splurged on the Deluxe Fusion set. Wow. What a gigantic disappointment. The quality has gone so downhill that these blocks were hardly recognizable as the same Archiquest blocks we had previously purchased. In case we got a bad batch, we ordered a second set from a completely different retailer. Sadly, they were the same. How are they different from the first set? Well, the new blocks are very shiny and look like they have a thick coat of shellac applied to them by an amateur. Our first set has a beautiful matte finish so you can see the gorgeous art below it -- this original set looks handpainted. The newer set also has stickers that are applied shoddily...many are bubbled, wrinkled, applied crookedly, and flat-out torn. SO SAD!!!! This manufacturer has clearly made a process change for the worse, but is still charging a VERY high price, reserved only for the highest caliber products. This one sorely disappoints...at least mom and dad. My son, on the otherhand, is still absolutely thrilled. He loves them and doesn't seem bothered by the wrinkles since they "look old" like a castle, or temple, or Egyptian tomb is supposed to. But if you do order them, please don't expect precision blocks as the thick, bumpy stickers will preclude that.

I bought this product for my son and was extremely impressed with the quality, creativity and educational value of this product. As a history and architecture buff, I thought this was a pretty cool building block toy and book for my son but soon I found I had as much fun as my son. So far we have been building all kinds of architectural models, and the book is full of interesting history and fun facts. I highly recommend this product!

This is by far the best building blocks set I've come across in years. It's fantastic, highly educational, detailed and fun. The set includes an amazing book with architectural and historical facts and building ideas. My kids have enjoyed a smaller set and now they are fascinated because they can mix together different cultures and stiles and still build great stuff with this bigger set.

Bought it for our 4 year old grand boy for his birthday and it is a great hit! His Mom has her master's degree in interior design, is NCIDQ, and works at an architecture firm, and she is absolutely taken with the quality and beauty of the blocks. Great educational toy, fun for parents and children, and I am buying one for myself and my husband from Santa to put under the tree this Christmas! I bought the set for the grandchild yesterday at Books A Million for $149.99, and came to Amazon to buy one for myself. I am disappointed to see the $50 extra price at Amazon. Perhaps they will consider revising the price.

I purchased this toy for my eight year old little girl and she loves it! Actually the whole family loves this toy and the idea behind the toy is really neat. My only reservation about this toy concerns the price since I feel the quality of the toy does not quite live up to the price. For example, the blocks are quite small, very light (thus do not stack and stay stacked that easily) and some of the pieces came with the clear plastic covering scratched up and peeling off. My recommendation would be to try and get this toy used given the mismatch, in my opinion, between (high) price and quality.

What ever I said in this review won't make enough justice to this outstanding product. I've never seen anything like it. Five + Stars
