Killer sound quality, you won't be disappointed!!,

The Shure the E2G's are were designed for use with portable video game devices like the Sony PSP. The audio clarity and response from these tiny earphones is fantastic! Listening to digital sound using the E2Gs is great because the sound quality is fast, balanced, and accurate. I could actually pick out background sounds that I never noticed using other headphones - it's almost like having surround sound headphones on. I must warn you that although the mid-range frequencies are solid, and high frequency is good as well, the bass falls short and may be too soft for some users. The sound isolation feature works pretty well. These earphones block out external noise (like people's voices, which noise-cancelling headphones are not designed for) allowing you to hear audio from your PSP more clearly. This feature also helps me to save battery life because I can keep the volume level lower than with regular headphones. Overall, the E2G's deliver superb sound quality. Just a warning, you might be shocked at the $100 price tag...I know I was. But after using these for a few weeks I can't live without them!

Best sound for the money - best comfort,

I've been looking for a pair of headphones like this for years. I've used these for 8 months now and wear them almost everyday. I ride a motorcycle everyday and I never leave without these. First, the comfort is exceptional. Even with my helmet on, I never get uncomfortable with these in my ears. I've ridden 400 miles at a time without any problems. Even when I need a break from the music, I leave these in because they do such a great job of blocking wind and bike noise. I've used several other brands of canal earphones and none have been comfortable - tolerable at best, but most are painful with a helmet on. The "bulb" you see in the picture rests in the crook of your ear, so there is nothing extending past your ear to get crammed in deep. Second, the sound quality is fantastic. Great bass, mids, and highs. I've heard things in my music I never knew was there and I can't wait to listen more. I can't recommend these enough. I've bought a pair for my brother and may have to buy a pair for my wife because she keeps taking mine.

Great earphones!,

These sound-isolating headphones are tremendously useful. I use them each morning when I jog, and they are very comfortable and the sound quality is very clear. Furthermore, I also use these when I travel, and they substantially equivalent to the Bose noise-cancelling headphones, but take up so much room. While these dont perfectly cancel out everything like the Bose, the benefit of these being so much smaller far outweighs it.Would buy it again.

Just got these, and I must say I LOVE THEM. I've had trouble with past IEMs--it can be frustrating to get a proper fit, and I think some folks who try them don't understand how far they need to go in one's ear to seal and deliver proper bass. It definitely takes a while to get accustomed. Once you get a proper fit, they sound awesome. I also got a great deal by shopping around. I've also read that these are the same as the E2c, and since I use these E2gs for music only (no gaming) I would not be surprised. THEY ROCK.

I ordered these because of their sound isolation feature. These come with a small carry case that I like to bring around along with my iPod. And they also come with 9 different earplugs for you to customize. They have 3 different kinds of plugs each with 3 sizes. They have clear plastic ones, soft black plugs, and foam plugs. I find the clear plastic ones to be way too hard so i tried the black ones which i used for a while and then tried the foam ones. Boy can I tell you, the foam earplugs are genius. They don't look as cool but they work exactly like earplugs. you roll them up and then put them in your ear and they expand to fill your earhole and you pretty much don't hear anything except for your music. The foam ear pieces are by far the best ones they have to offer in my opinion. Other than the superior sound isolation, the sound quality from these are amazing. I own sennheiser pc150s paired with x-fi sound card and they aren't nearly as good as the e2g's with my ipod. If you have the money, buy this and you won't be disappointed. these work for jogging too, its really hard for them to fall out but easy to take off when you need to.

...especially if you find a good deal on them. I read somewhere that these buds are basically the E2C model in black. I don't have the E2C to compare but I can say that these are high quality in finish and sound. Many years ago I'd had a very nice, high-end pair of Sony buds and realize now that I've forgotten how nice it is to have a good pair for listening.Along with the many different fitting pads there's a sheet of "wax shields". You apply these tiny, adhesive mesh circles to the sound canal to keep the wax out. There's also a sleeve on the cable to tighten the separate bud cables to your neck. Nice little details. I agree with the other reviewer's caution regarding the supreme sound isolation these buds offer. Compared to the noise-protection gear I wear in my woodshop, I'd say these reduce noise by about 20 to 30 decibel. If you need to be aware of some sounds in your environment, something with less isolation may be better.

Completly Isolating!,

First time I've bought $100 earphones, and can say I'm quite happy.I don't know about mid-range highs, or peak frequencies, or any of that; they sound good to me, and they will completly cut you out of your surroundings. Sitting next to the TV on moderatly-loud volume, I can hear it, but very muted. Same with anyone who isn't talking into your ear. I needed the smallest size plugs, using the black plastic ones. The included case is nice, it's a semi-hard shell, so offers some protection. Overall, they sound good to me, and I agree with another post on letting you turn the volume down due to noise-blocking.

Only thing that I had tried that was better than this is the Ultimate Ears equivalent level sets. This loses out to UE on the bass as well as the clarity of the sound. However, this wins over VModa, Sony, Bose and even Etymotic(if you want bass).I do hate the black medium size rubber cover, though. They are not made smoothly and hurt my ears very much, especially during a long flight.

This is my first pair of good earphones. I have always used whatever is cheapest. Now that my IPOD has reached the one year mark and I have found myself using it everyday, I am going to splurge on the E2g because it is one of the lowest priced Shure models sold by Amazon.
