I swapped out the stock cart on my Numark TTUSB for the Shure M35X and couldn't be happier with the sound quality! This is by far the best my vinyl has ever sounded and it makes for high-quality transfers to MP3. Great for all kinds of music; don't be put off by the house/techno designation.

I bought two of these to replace the original cartridges on a set of used Stanton T.80 turntables. Wow, what a difference!

M35X doesn't sound very different from Shure's M97xE. They are not lying when they say M35X has the highest quality rating.
It's also a good thing that the tracking force starts from 1.5 grams (other Shure DJ cartridges start from 3 grams). Gripes: Compared to M97xE, it buzzes a bit more at high frequencies (it could be problems with my 'table setup though). And you can't beat M97xE when the LP is off-center. |
