5.0 out of 5 stars Does The Job
A pop screen isn't very exciting but it is a definite MUST for studio recording. The difference with and without one is night and day. I've owned several Shure Popper Stoppers over the years. SHOCKINGLY, I've "lost" two. They both disappeared at different productions studios in the Denver and Los Angeles areas. If you see my beloved Popper Stoppers, please return them to...

Useful in preventing the odd voice sounds and puffs from such things as the "P's" in words. Makes the recordings sound more professional.

SHOCKINGLY, I've "lost" two. They both disappeared at different productions studios in the Denver and Los Angeles areas. If you see my beloved Popper Stoppers, please return them to me, post haste.

Just a side note, ANY of the $15 and up pop screens from Nady, etc will do the EXACT same job. The difference in price has to do with the arm mechanism that holds the pop screen where you want it. If you buy cheaper, the arm is usually very flimsy and you end up constantly readjusting it. The screen itself is the same, nylon type, double mounted material on nearly ALL of them. Be sure and look at the diameter of the screen itself so you know it is large enough to block your mouth and nose.

Hard to be flowery about his product. It's durable. It's sturdy. It catches spit and allows you to get right on your microphone and get the most out of your voice. I hooked it onto a snowball microphone stem and it works well.

I had some problems with popping the mic with my voice, but this really did fit the bill. I have no complaints on this item.

I've not owned this for long, but it appears to be well made, and works great. I have it attached to a desk-top boom stand, but before I bought one for my son as well, I made sure it fits on the standard Blue Snowball base, which he uses.

I am using this popper stopper to record voice overs in my home studio. It does a good job and I think the price was right.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stop Popping Your P's, August 19, 2010

I bought this based on the reviews and it was worth every penny. For years, I used a homemade solution for "stopping the popping" in my home studio. I finally got tired of that not working consistently and decided on the Shure PS-6. It works with my desktop mic stand On Stage DS7200B Adjustable Desk Microphone Stand, Black and my larger stand just perfectly. It travels well and is quite durable! It is a good piece of hardware and I highly recommend it.

Just received it and have used it for commercials. Works like a charm and the metal neck and clamp are sturdy, easily adjustable and it stays in place. I would recommend this pop filter. I returned a recently purchased pop filter by Blue, it did not fit my Yeti mic, I thought Blue made it for the mic but it looks like you have to use a drill to have it fit on the mic stand, that was disappointing.

This pop filter filters pops. The quality is good and it's quite sturdy. Not much else to add. Hmm.. it's black? Dunno if it's worth 40 bucks though (I got it on sale). You could probably throw something together with scraps you find around the house that would work just as well.
