5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Choice
I have tried many but this is by far the best. Very comfortable so that you don't feel you are wearing an earpiece. You must adjust the volume lower because it is so effective. You won't mind observing the hands free law with this item!

3.0 out of 5 stars Adequate
I read reviews before I bought this product and am fairly satisfied with it. The sound quality is good, but you do have to make sure the inline mic is in the right position or others can't hear you very well. I think it's just been a little hard to get used to using an earpiece.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shure QuietSpot is a great mobile phone headset, October 9, 2007

3 years ago I purchased a Etymotic ER22C headset ER22C Cellular Headset, and was reasonably happy with the purchase despite a few flaws highlighted below. Eventually that headset partially broke (my fault) and I decided I needed a new mobile phone headset.

Recently, for the point of comparison, I re-purchased the Etymotic ER22C headset ER22C Cellular Headset and the equivalent Shure headset Shure QuietSpot Headset for Mobile Phones with Inline Microphone. The results are pretty clear, both have excellent audio quality, but the Shure headset is hands down better.

The Ety-Com (ER22C) is flawed by the lack of any support for the microphone. This results in the microphone constantly slipping down from where it is positioned during the course of use, resulting in reduced audio quality for whomever you are conversing with. If I really jam the headset in my ear the microphone does not slip down as much, but it is not very comfortable. Etymotic needs to add a (detachable?) over-the-ear piece to hold the microphone up if they want to make this product great.

The Shure QuietSpot Shure QuietSpot Headset for Mobile Phones with Inline Microphone is really quite a nice headset for the price. The over-the-ear silicone is quite comfortable as is the ear-piece. The microphone being 'in-line' initially concerned me, but after testing it on a windy day with an airplane flying overhead, my concerns were relieved. Overall I am quite impressed with the Shure QuietSpot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little hard-wired headset!!, January 15, 2007

When I was looking for a headset, I wanted something simple and affordable. I was shocked when I saw that Shure carries a cell phone headset. I am in the live-sound business and know how nice of products Shure makes. When I saw this headset, it was literally exactly what I was looking for. It is a great headset with perfect call clarity on both ends. The earpiece is a little large and odd looking, but the sound more than makes up for it. The earpiece itself fits so well in my ear that I removed the rubber ear hook. Now its very easy to take on and off while driving. It also comes with different size rubber ear-canal pieces so you can get a more comfortable fit. I would definitely purchase this again if needed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good sensitivity, January 9, 2007

The GOOD: Very good sensitivity and audio quality. Silicon pads and microphone blocks out environment noise.
The BAD: Very good sensitivity, you will hear noise from your cell phone circuit. You have to talk at least at normal level or bring the microphone closer to your mouth because it is highly directional. Silicon pads blocks noise and create a small boombox in your head at the same time. I found the clear plastic one is a good compromise albeit a bit less comfortable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Quality all the way around, August 15, 2007
This review is from: Shure QuietSpot Headset with Inline Microphone for Select Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Motorola, and LG Phones (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I've been trying to find a cell head set that would provide good incoming fidelity as well as outgoing sound. This is it. The microphone is incredibly sensitive -- If you have it turned up, you can actually pick up conversations in the same room that are too quiet for your own ear to hear. (So, in essence, you can listen in on your co-workers :-0).

The incoming sound is quiet and clear. I actually use the inline microphone conversion set with my shure headphones and with the triple flange ear buds, you have the most comfortable and noise-reducing cellular headset that is even better in terms of comfort and fidelity than traditional lan lines.

The only negative -- if you don't like a lot of "pieces" to your headsets, then you probably won't like this combination. However, if you are looking for something that truly works and makes your cell phone a true communication device, this is it.

One more word of warning -- if you do replace the regular earbud with the triple flange shure ear buds, be sure to wipe them off with clorox wipes each time you use them. (This pretty much goes for any ear buds). If you don't, you could wind up with a nasty outer ear yeast infection. If you DO get an infection, try some Lamisil for a couple days and that will clear it up.

Again, this isn't a defect with this particular headset -- this is true of any ear buds that go in the ear (as opposed to cans that sit over the ear).

I am very happy with this product. I am able to clearly hear the person on the other end and they are able to clearly hear me. This is an in-the-ear type of design, which may not work for all.

I've used earsets (headsets) that cost twice as much. I've used earsets that cost 1/3 as much. I've used Bluetooth arsets (don't bother).

Nothing compares. These are simply as good as it gets. Simple. Great sound. Great fit. Compact. Rugged. Reliable.

I own two pairs. I wouldn't mind three pairs.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed with durability, December 17, 2010

This review is from: Shure QuietSpot Headset with Inline Microphone for Select Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Motorola, and LG Phones (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Sound quality of the headset was fantastic, both in me hearing others and in them hearing me. Unlike other Shure products of note, this is NOT robustly made, and the cords will develop shorts rather soon if used in any kind of real world environment. Both my first headset and the one I gave as a gift did this. My second Shure (yes, I bought another) similarly shorted out.

The wimpy wires just don't hold up, overall a VERY disappointing level of durability from a brand known for products that last.

I cannot recommend it, as it simply will not last long enough to make the cost remotely justified.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad for jogging, October 28, 2008

This review is from: Shure QuietSpot Headset with Inline Microphone for Select Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Motorola, and LG Phones (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I use it alot while jogging outside. I can hear very well. Stays in my ear fine. Speaking is still not great - need to position little speaker close to my mouth which is not that easy to get it there and make it stay there. I think there is another version with a plastic piece positioning microphone. Maybe that is better. Also, missing is a button on the microphone or somewhere to hangup/answer phone/wake up phone for voice command.
