I use a lot of Shure mics at the shows I produce. The mic screens are always getting smashed. But the mics are always protected by the grill. I find that Amazon has the best pricing on replacements. My local shops sell them for 3X the price.

When my original SM58 grille became damaged, I replaced it with a third-party knock-off. Bad call. Within a year it rusted -- tough on the lips when you're singing up close. I've gone back to the real Shure replacement, with much better results.
