As with most of the world, I was introduced to this song by that music giant iTunes, or more specifically, a commercial for it. Anyways, when I finally found out who did the song, I ran out and got it, and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since. Really people, it's in my dreams, when I'm driving, when I'm working, when I'm in the elevator, and even during hugs (which is quite embarrassing ;).

Anyways, the music is modern pop that isn't in your face annoying you to death. Why this hasn't shot up to the top of the charts, I have no idea. The Brits seem to be embracing it for all it's worth (Us Americans would rather indulge in Katy Perry and her brand of crap). Overall, it's radio-friendly, fun, has a good music video and did I mention it's pretty catchy?

I purchased The Ting Tings CD because my two year old Grandson loved to dance to it at his own home. So I got it to play for him when he is here at my place. It is however, not made for children, it is very much dance music upbeat in tempo through the entire CD. I personally think it is pretty fun listening as along as repetition of the same lyrics over and over and over in some of the cuts don't bother you too much. I feel that in a couple of songs it starts getting a little irritating, but all in all it is a pretty energetic effort that a lot of people will enjoy.

"Shut up and let me go" got its all-American introduction in the first episode of the final season of Showtime's "The L Word." It perfectly captured the hedonism of Mia Kirshner's character,Jennifer Shechter. "Shut up and let me go" is a catchy song about having no strings attached, living without commitment. As Jenny wooed a Hollywood beauty and the butch,promiscuous Shane, this song sums up her life. "Shut up and let me go" has rock guitar,dance elements. Above all,it's got a beat. You'll be free to dance!

Great catchy tune, and it is a fun addition to workout, driving or other fast mixes on my iPod. Like most songs that fit that description though I'm worried I'm going to get sick of it rather quickly and eventually be ashamed it is in my music collection.

The song "Shut Up And Let Me Go" by The Ting Tings is my favorite song of 2008. I like the disco-rock guitar beat as well as the various other cool sounds in the song. I had never heard of this band before this song, so I don't know anything about them. I think this may be classified as DANCE MUSIC. But I'm 52 years old and I played it non-stop for 3 weeks after I first heard it. Very infectious beat. I would like more music like this. As a whole I don't like much newer music, but I sure do love this song.
