This simple Remote Shutter Release Cord works with Sony Alpha Digital SLR Cameras and has a 3-foot long cord.
This is a wise investment if you often take digital photographs with a camera mounted to a tripod. By remotely causing a digital camera to take a long exposure, you all but eliminate any chance of "camera shake" due to pressing the digital camera's built-in shutter button. This may be especially useful for nighttime, fireworks, cityscape or panorama photography.

Look at your camera--no place to plug in a shutter release. We can only use the wireless RMT-DSLR1

OH NO!! I BLEW SOME DOUGH!!! (DOH!!),
This review is from: Remote Shutter Release Cord for Sony Alpha A100, A200, A230, A300, A330, A350, A380, A700 & A900 Digital SLR Cameras (Electronics)
This is NOT compatible with ALPHA 230, nor is any remote plugged shutter releasers. It's not the fault of the manufacturer of THIS product. The blame lies on SONY and us consumers for not asking enough questions before whipping out the ole Visa card. I can however say that this product is ADVERTISED as being compatible which is WRONG. Homework, I will do it next time!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I didn't realize how short the cord would be. It fits the Sony a350 just fine (the plug is a little snug, but fits). It works as described. The cord is way way too short. This isn't really worth it unless you just want a hands free option for taking pictures while standing right next to the camera.
