This is TED NUGENT'S first new studio album in 8 years and will have his legions of fans rejoicing! Recognized as the world's leading guitar showman, NUGENT'S no-holds-barred career spans five decades of multi-platinum hits. From the ground breaking Amboy Dukes' Journey to the Center of the Mind, to classics like Stranglehold and Cat Scratch Fever, Damn Yankees'
chartbusters like Coming Of Age and High Enough, cult classic Fred Bear, and now Shut Up & Jam!

There are artists that reinvent themselves throughout their careers and you never quite know what their next album will sound like and then there are artists like Ted Nugent who have a signature sound that they stick to like glue. That isn't necessarily a bad thing when your signature sound is fueled with killer Motown Rhythm & Blues guitar riffs and the kind of sonic bombast that has made Nugent a hard rock legend.

"Shutup&Jam!" consists of 13 blistering new songs that showcases what Nugent does best; playing guitar with an intensity that most guys half his age don't have. Nugent takes lead vocals on all but two songs with Derek St. Holmes taking lead on "Everything Matters" and Sammy Hagar sharing the vocal duties with Nugent on "She's Gone."

The themes here on "Shutup&Jam!" are classic Nugent with his love of women, loud guitars, his country, the military, juicy meat and firearms all given their due. Nugent sounds like he's still having a great time being the keeper of the hard rocking Motown sound and it makes the album a lot of fun to listen to while the speakers are cranked up loud.

As someone who owns everything in the Nugent catalog I believe this one stands pretty tall on its own. It might not have an outstand track like "Great White Buffalo," "Cat Scratch Fever" or "Stranglehold" but the album as a whole is a very strong effort. It might not be the first album I'd suggest for a new fan but it is essential listening for anyone that's ever been a fan of the Motor City Madman.

Excellent return of The Nuge.
Standout tracks are-
1. Fear Itself
2. Everything Matters
3. She's Gone
4. Never Stop Believing
5. Throttledown
6. I Still Believe

This album rocks and is a welcome return to form over the last two releases Craveman & Love Grenade not saying those two releases were terrible but Shutup&Jam is just so much more of what made Ted great in the 70s. Not really a bad track on the whole Album.

Inside notes say "The sounds on this recording were generated from specially selected "VINTAGE EQUIPMENT" And I must say it shows. The sound of this CD has the warmth of Analog which is so much better than the coldness of Digital recordings. Great Release Uncle Ted and looking forward to more of The Motor City Madman for years to come. Long Live The Nuge

Update do yourself a favor and get the best buy version it contains a bonus track "Johnny B. Goode Forever" I bought the original at wally world then saw best buy had it with the bonus track so bought it again.

Okay kids let's stay away from politics and just address the CD please. This is another solid one from Ted. In fact, everything since his fantastic Spirit of the Wild CD has been good. He lost me on Penetrator, Little Miss, and If You Can't Lick 'Em. All three were horrible. Anyway, the songs on this CD are tight and they rock. My only real complaint is that Derek only sings on one song. Ted asked him back, so he should have use his vocal talents on more songs. These two always played well together, just check out the early stuff.

It's clear from most of these reviews that the Nuge haters are out in full force and haven't even listened to the record that they're bashing. "Shutup&Jam" is the best Nugent record in years and is a meaty slice of what rock 'n' roll should be: loud guitars, intense vocals (especially with the help from Sammy Hagar on "She's Gone"), and unadulterated attitude. Agree with him politically or not, any rational person with ears can appreciate Ted for his legendary musicianship. It's about the music man, so SHUTUP&JAM!

Been listening to Uncle Ted since back in the day when we would wire two Pioneer receivers together for the loudest basement keg parties. This was back when Ted's self-titled album (with Stormtroopers and Stranglehold, etc.) was new. There was a time when Ted was serious about music and was absolutely leading the pack. For me, that time ended with the Scream Dream album. I have really tried to fall back in love with Ted's music, starting again with Love Grenade, but I really couldn't get past the juvenile nature of that release. I really want to love Uncle Ted's music again. I really do. But with this one, SU&J, I find that I will be ok if I never listen to it after the first spin. It doesn't rise above Go, USA and backyard barbeque. Sadly, Ted's music remains at cartoon level. Go back and listen to the first album and the other early albums: Cat Scratch Fever, Double Live Gonzo, Free For All, State Of Shock. That is the Ted Nugent band I remember. I miss your real music, Ted, I really do.

After all the 4 & 5 star ratings I thought Ted might have finally put together a great album. Even the cover looks like it's going to be great. I bought this and wish I hadn't. Most of these songs are the lame filler songs I've grown accustomed to hearing from Uncle Ted. The only really strong standout song features Derek St Holmes on vocals. If I were to do this over I definitely would have listened to the samples and not the over hyped reviews. IMO there are three good songs worth downloading, the rest is garbage!

Uncle Ted puts out a great Rock n Roll album. Solid musicianship through out this album. The only complaint I have is I wish he let Derek St Holmes sing more. Other wise this a solid album. Way to go Uncle Ted.

Is there a way...
Is it possible for Amazon to delete users who are ignorantly saying all Liberals are rating this music based solely on a political viewpoint as opposed to the music itself?

I'm a classic Liberal and I happen to own much of Ted's work up til "Scream Dream". If I'm rating an album, it's... Read More

EXXXCITED for this release!
Got an advance on mp3. Ted flat out rocks. The lyrics have always run a distant second to his guitar playing which is in top form here! Only one track with Derek on vocals.
