Product Description

About the Artist

Meet MTV's newest comedic ensemble as the channel premieres "Buzzin'," a new reality series starring music artist Shwayze, his best pal and producer Cisco Adler, their partner in crime, tour manager Warren Gumpel and their manager head of Suretone Records, Jordan Schur. Beginning Wednesday, July 23 at 10:30PM ET/PT, fans can catch the misadventures of Shwayze, his wingman and music partner Cisco, best buddy Warren and manager Jordan as they define a whole new California sound. And rounding out the Wednesday night line-up, "Run's House" returns with new episodes premiering July 16 at 10pm ET/PT.

Showcasing the long road from the trailer park to the top of the charts, "Buzzin'" follows the unlikely pair - Shwayze, the self-described "only black kid in Malibu" and Cisco, the seasoned singer/producer and regular tabloid bad boy - and their crew as their path to stardom hits all the twists, turns and bumps along the way. The music and madness get underway as the boys and their fresh Cali sound get ready to debut their self-titled album on August 19 and as their first single, "Buzzin'" continues to climb the charts. Trying to keep them on track is their tough manager and label honcho, Jordan Schur who has taken artists like Ashlee Simpson and Limp Bizkit all the way to the top. Also along for the ride is their resident right-hand man, tour manager and comrade, Warren. When they guys are in a jam, count on him to be the man with the plan - even if the plan causes more problems than it solves.

Really laid back music...good for listening to anytime.

I hope they sell good, so we can see if they can consistently make great music.

The music is so great, it flows so well, the lyrics are funny yet intellectual.

From the days when Aerosmith and Run DMC taught us how to walk to today's hybrid groups such as Black-Eyed Peas and N.E.R.D, the combination of rock and hip-hop has always been a highly infectious match-up. Rapper Shwayze brings his own interpretation of this formula to the turntables, rolling alternative rock and hip-hop together like a tight blunt and leaving you chilled out on his old-school sound. Smooth tunes are the backdrop for Shwayze's tales of the beaches and streets of his hometown of Malibu, California where the days are spent hanging out, partying, and smoking...weed.

Shwayze is not one, but a group of three. The group consists of lead emcee Shwayze, and Cisco Adler, who is the son of Lou Adler and front man of the band Whitestarr. DJ Skeet Skeet rounds out the trio. The group formed after Adler watched Shwayze commandeer the stage at a venue where Whitestarr was playing. Shwayze delivered a nifty line about being "the only black kid in Malibu" as Whitestarr's drummer backed him up on percussion. The crowd went wild. Shwayze and Adler started talking and began recording soon after. Shwayze brings smooth hip-hop rhymes while Adler provides his chilled out brand of alternative rock.

The group hails from Malibu, California and their hometown serves as the locale and inspiration for their album. With his simple and sophisticated flow, Shwayze delivers the last cat-call of summer 2008, painting vivid word pictures of all the sights and sounds of the beach, streets, and parties of California. Adler lends his voice on each of the album's 13 songs, and his choruses and melodies are simple and catchy. The accompanying tunes, which incorporate light drum samples and acoustic and electric guitar riffs, are easy listening.

Honestly, one of the best put together albums I've come across. Cisco and Shwayze are a perfect team, with acoustic guitars and fun rhymes about beach life and partying. This is truly one to own for anybody out there. If you buy it and don't like it, then you got no soul like an old pair of chucks.

Nice laid back change of pace. I give 7 tracks on here decent play.

This one of my favorite albums to drive too. I wish I had more of it.

This is a great album from a great artist. I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed. Shwayze comes with a refreshing, laid back stoner style that's all original and all his own. I have let five people listen to this CD and EVERY ONE OF THEM went and bought it after one listen.
I'm a big rap fan, but I cannot tell you how tired I am of hearing every single rapper on the radio sounding like they are rapping the same stuff, from the same label, from the same producer, from the same studio, from the same ghostwriter, since most of them don't even write their own ish anymore. It's pathetic, they make most of these raps the same way they make cars: mass produced in a factory.
If you miss real rap, buy some Shwayze and find it again. It's a beautiful thing.

I like this CD more than my husband. I like listening to it while driving. The lyrics are fun but sometimes immature, the beats are really good. They kind of remind me of a modern day Eazy-E. We have a convertible and it makes me want to drop the top and cruise around the beach...haha, just not too loudly, I am afraid of all the looks I will get if people around here all the references to smoking pot. Definitely a good choice if you want some "mellow" rap-type music.

Shwayze's album is one of the most unique albums out there right now. It's definitely a nice change in what's on the radio right now. I recommend this album to everyone!!

Also! If you like Shwayze, or music in general... you'll LOVE Shwayze's new songs on his Rich Girls Mixtape which is available for FREE here: [...]

it's a bit different than what's on the album, but it's still fantastic!
check it out!!
