I particularly enjoy the east west moods in this recording, as they were inspired from just such mystical moments of solitude he referred to in a soft-spoken tone of voice about finding spiritual inspiration in a Buddhist cave temple, the Tum Luong (Royal Mountain Cavern) in Phetchaburi Thailand. The smooth enchanting flute in "Island Dreams" conjures such images of aromatic incense and calming sea swells. The CD encompasses several expressive moods that are unique to his songwriting themes. All of the songs are mellow yet the lyrics range from personal experiences to social comment.
I highly recommend this listening CD as it is a very well rounded work of world, new age, rock, and smooth jazz arrangements unfettered by the boundaries of commercialism and performed with the exquisite finesse of true artistry. One may find this CD difficult to place into a specific category, yet from an artistic perspective this may be the reason he is uniquely different and not necessarily mainstream rock, jazz, pop, or dance music.
