This review is from: Siberia and the Soviet Far East: Unmasking the Myths (Paperback)
This book has some interesting information and a kind of dramatic factual style to it. It is an interesting read no doubt. It provides a geography style story of Siberia, with chapters on transportation, agriculture and education to name a few. Its an important niche for myself as a western North American; I know next to nothing about Siberia. However, I felt the publication date of 2000 was quite deceiving as (thus far, I'm on pg 65) the body of the text was actually written in 1985. Though I'm ignorant of Siberia, I expect MUCH has changed in the human geography of the land in the last 25 years.
