Book Description

Like wildfires loose on a western mountain, the karmas of eight people, a teenage ghost, the CIA, mankind and its parent race converge in Colorado on Bighorn Peak, forcing Cassandra, the sibyl reborn, to outwit the bane of our spiritual past and solve a seemingly hopeless riddle: how to save her species from enslavement and her planet from her species.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is funny, entertaining, and enlightening October 27, 2012
By Cloey.k
Format:Kindle Edition
I loved Cassandra, she is hilarious but also very serious when she wants to get something done. She is a strong women who is not afraid to manipulate others to get her way. Another character that I liked in this story is Margot, she is that cruel neighbor who only cares about personal gain and I like that she always has her own agenda. Then there's Sylvia, a struggling reporter, who wants to move up to a better position at her newspaper but has a conscious - it sucks to be her but I like the way she develops in the story. And there is a cat named Caesar the Wise and Fur-filled, whoa, very - very funny. There are plots and sub plots with several characters running simultaneously which kept me turning the pages - what a story! You can't go wrong with this one. Get ready to laugh, maybe cry, and possibly learn something new. I would definitely read this one again and the next if Mr. Kelly writes one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Metaphysical, Environmental Adventure November 20, 2012
By Dave
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The Sibyl who has been reborn is Cassandra, the princess prophet of ancient Troy, who was cursed with the power to foresee the future and the inability to make anyone believe her. In "The Sibyl Reborn" she has been reincarnated - literally - and the dire future she is trying to warn about is global warming.
Right there you have an unconventional premise for a story that is a remarkable mixture of the supernatural, environmentalism, intrigue, and romance. Oh, and did I mention that it's funny too?
This novel is chock-a-block full of quirky, vivid, fascinating characters, as well as a plethora of plots, subplots and counter-plots. Cassandra herself is smart, witty, sweet, courageous and committed.
I highly recommend this book. It's a fun and thought provoking read.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wild (and humorous) ride. December 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is a wild ride, fantasy and unfortunately all too true as to premise. All that, and a good read. It's a rare combination of fantasy and fact, and not to be missed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Clever Entertainment with a Positive Message February 19, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Although this genre isn't my favorite, I really wanted to like this book for several reasons. I was intrigued by the author's back-story, technical background and life experiences. Additionally, in my opinion, the subject of environmentalism is fast becoming a critical one.

The Sibyl Reborn is a thought-provoking, timely novel that's jam packed with action, adventure, suspense, sensuality, metaphysics and a bit of comic relief. The novel's many twists and turns, and plots and subplots will keep readers guessing and wanting more. However, on the flip side, the same twists, turns, plots and subplots and fairly sizeable cast of characters did have a tendency to be confusing at times.

Cassandra is a likeable character and it didn't take long for me to begin rooting for her while she pursued her quest of educating people on the importance of protecting our environment. Some of the other characters were rather colorful and added nicely to the story.

Make no mistake, The Sibyl Reborn is no quick read. It's very long and involved. If you enjoy easy, breezy reading, you're going to be frustrated with this novel. Earlier characters faded away for awhile and then returned later leaving me a little confused at first - which, when reading on a Kindle is frustrating because flipping back several chapters isn't easy.

Author, J. Perry Kelly, brings a great deal of technical experience to this book, and it really shows. This is also Mr. Kelly's first novel and the results are quite impressive. The Sibyl Reborn is a cleverly crafted novel that's sure to give readers pause to think about where we are as a society (and possibly were?) and where we might be going. I'd have to say that The Sibyl Reborn is clever entertainment with a positive message.

One can certainly feel Sibyl's allure in this book.
As well, I get a sense of how the author has truly connected
with his work. It's a book you can't easily put down.
I highly recommended his book!

More About the Author

Twice a surrogate spokesperson for the White House, James ended five years of 'pro-cures' biotech activism in 2006 in protest over his former social and political contacts joining with Big Oil, Coal, and Gas to distort the science of Climate Change.

Prior to a 1997 auto accident that left him paralyzed, James enjoyed a twenty-year railroad career in signals & communications, locomotive electronics, and rail traffic management. Together with his wife Selene, he restored antique furniture, redecorated old houses, and rambled along backcountry roads or Appalachian paths with Homer, their mostly beagle.

The Kellys live at the foot of Pikes Peak in Colorado where James meets Selene daily on her return from Cassandra-like treks on mountain trails or through a nearby park called the "Garden of the Gods." They appreciate your interest in "The Sibyl Reborn" and hope to hear your thoughts concerning its content and value as entertainment.

Cordially yours,

James & Selene
