This review is from: Siciliane 96/38 Modiano Regional Italian Playing Cards. Authentic Italian Deck. Includes Free Scopa and Briscola Instructions in English. (Misc.)
These cards are just like the ones I learned on. It is much easier to play Scopa with real Italian cards than with a standard US deck. The only thing that would have been better would have been a bit clearer instructions for those who don't already know how to play. And if you don't know how, you should. It's a great game for 2 or 4 people and is simple and easy for kids but fun for adults also. In addition, kids and adults have an equal chance to win.

My wife and I have traveled to Italy 3 time so far and were introduced on the first visit to Scopa by my father's cousins. Since then we have been playing it and Briscola several times a month. This last trip my father's cousin gifted us with a set of his cards, and another friend from Sicily gifted us with a set. I am now hooked and what to collect all of the regions of Italian cards. The folks at Brybell deliver these in excellent condition and in a timely manner, I will continue to purchase these items from them. Unless of course we get to go back to Italy and buy them there!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Deck of Italian Cards, December 29, 2011

Italian cards, a deck of 40 with the suits: coins, cups, clubs, and swords, are unique, and each region has its own design. The Sicilian are easiest on the eye and best for play, IMO.

The card game "Scopa" is a really fun game, but the directions that come with the deck are written in Italian. It is easy to find the directions on the internet in English, however. The game is simple but LOTS of fun.
