In "The Sickness" Cassie hears about Aftran, the yeerk that showed Cassie that not all yeerks are bad. Aftran has been taken by Visser Three for questioning. Cassie and the other animorphs have to try and rescure her. But Ax has fallen sick and since doctors are out of the question, Ax is dying! But they have continue with out him to save themselves and Aftran. One by one the animorphs get sick with the same thing that Ax has. soon Cassie is the only one left. So Cassie has to continue alone... This is one of the best in the series, it is well written and the plot is full of little twists and turns.

The BEST Animorph book ever! And I love all of them!,

This review is from: The Sickness (Animorphs #29) (Paperback)
This is an awesome book! It's about Cassie. She has to removeAx's Tria gland, because he has a disease called Yamphut. All theothers get the disease, but it does not effect them as much because they are human. Cassie also morphs a Yeerk so she can save Aftran. Visser Three found out about the Yeerk Peace Movement, and he planned to kill her. Luckily, Cassie saved her, and the Animorphs gave Aftran the power to morph. Aftran became a nothlit. She will remain forever a dolphin.

Not bad...,

Ax gets sick with a deadly Andalite disease called the Yamphut. He will die unless his Tria gland is taken out... of his head. Meaning brain surgery.Just to complicate matters, the Yamphut is contagious, and pretty soon all the Animorphs except Cassie are sick, too. And just to make things really impossible, Visser Three finds out that Aftran has sided with the Animorphs. He wants to torture her until she reveals everything she knows - which would doom the Animorphs.

Ax gets a disease that might kill him if not taken care of by surgery. After a while, all the other Animorphs besides Cassie gets it too, but theirs is less deadly. Meanwhile, Cassie has to rescue Aftran, a Yeerk that befriended Cassie. Can Cassie rescue Aftran by herself and still be in time for Ax's surgery?

Good ole Cassie, saving the day again,

Rather run-of-the-mill, but fine. All the other Animorphs are incapacitated by an alien disease, Cassie has to step in and...you know the drill. Has anyone else noticed the recent trend towards one of the characters being forced to act alone? It's like the author(s) can't imagine them having to work as a team...or it's reminiscent of the mediaeval tradition of trial by combat, in which a warrior's worth (and innocence!) was determined by single testing in battle. Not a bad addition to the series: in fact, I gave it to one of my sceptic friends to read when we were on Schoolies' Week (for people who've just graduated from high school), and he was surprised by how much he liked it!

This is K.A. Applegates Best,
By David Meyer (Wheaton, Illinois, United States) - See all my reviews

I Believe that The Sickness is the best book that K.A. Applegate has ever written. It desribes more action then any other book. Cassie has to rescue Aftran by herself then do brain surgery on Ax. It is my favorite book that I have ever read and probably not ever see a book compareable with it!

Best Cassie Book Ever!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Sickness (Animorphs #29) (Paperback)
I ususally don't like Cassie books that much. But this one was fantastic. One of my favorites. At the begining of the story, Ax gets sick while at a school dance with the animorphs. While they are trying to get him home, Cassie finds out from a peace-loving yeerk that the only other yeerk(who also wants peace) who knows their secret is in trouble and will be questioned by Visser Three. The animorphs figure out that they must help, but first they have to figure out what is wrong with Ax. They find out that it is something very serious, and that they will have to operate on him! As in brain surgery! I'm not gonna say anymore, you're just going to have to go read it yourself.

in The Sickness, Ax is sick and soon the rest get sick too; all but Cassie. She has to free a yeerk that had started the peace movement and the yeerk has information about the animorphs. Plus, Cassie has to do brain surgery to save Ax and she has to do all of this by herself. It's really good, so I won't spoil the ending for you.
