Eating Bananas Out Of A Japanese Woman's HooHaa,
By
This review is from: Sicko (Audio CD)
Doug Stanhope is not for everyone. If you've seen him on 'The Man Show' or on those silly 'Girls Gone Wild' infomercials you still don't quite understand the kind of standup that Stanhope does. Stanhope is, by far, the most vulgar comic working today. And with that said, he's also just about the funniest. But thats not to say that he's vulgar just for vulgar's sake. Stanhope is very funny but he also does make some good points. He's no political comic...but he does have some opinions that are very valid.
'Sicko' kills from beginning to end. Stanhope is the master of the run-on sentence rant. He can go forever, without taking a breath, and absolutely slay you. He also has no problem telling you not-so-great things about himself(i.e. the time he was rolled by a tranny hooker). His routine mostly revolves around sex, but what in life doesn't? While Stanhope probably isn't for your politically correct girlfriend, I'm sure you'll love him. So do yourself a favor: punch your girl in the eye and buy this album. In fact, buy all of Doug Stanhope's albums. You won't be disappointed.

very funny--but virtually identical to Great White Stanhope,

Apparently "Great White Stanhope" was made without much oversight by Mr. Stanhope, so he remade the album as "Sicko." It's essentially the same material, but a different performance, edited differently. Both are quite funny, but I think Stanhope's "Die Laughing" is probably his best.

Doug Stanhope is by far the king of [dirty] joke comedy. even if you do not like dirty comedy, Stanhopes honesty and great material is sure to make you laugh and think. This is the kind of Cd that makes fans of Clean comedy bow there heads in shame.

If you are a Stanhope fan, you won't be disappointed. Stanhope is vulgar and very funny. Real word comedy. If your feelings are hurt easily, don't listen to any of Stanhope's stuff. Very Funny!

Doug's got a great take on a wide variety of topics. Very hard-edged, so not for everyone. If you have thick skin and dig very adult humor, I'd highly recommend Sicko. Well recorded with good sound-levels.

The best comic around,
This review is from: Sicko (Audio CD)
This man is a revelation. Just when I thought I'd heard every joke around at least twice, along came Doug Stanhope with a wholly original take on things. Gloriously profane and viciously eloquent, his material makes everyone else's stuff look pale and unambitious. He has more up-to-date albums available but as an introduction to his work, this is perfect.

Not nearly as good I expected.,

Doug makes up for his lack of comic timing by saying volgar things. Sometimes the volgarity is funny, most of the time it isn't. I suggest looking elsewhere for your laughs.
