3.0 out of 5 stars Ahistoric game with a great map
War! Age of Imperialism (the board game), has some things to recomend it, but has little to do with the age of imperialism.

People who enjoy abstract and ahistoric games, such as Risk, will probably enjoy this game. Those who are looking for a game that plays out European Colonialism should look elsewhere.

Eagle games has another winner with WAR the Age of Imperialism (Actually it was its first game and a GREAT one.

You play one of the great 19th century powers trying to explore and exploit the resources of the Eastern Hemisphere. You will send your explorers out to meet the natives, maybe they will greet you and welcome you, maybe they will kill you, either way you will build your empire and compete with your foes, Build schools and develop knowledge, build railroads and develop trade, Build cities and and ports and grow on land and sea.

Of course this is the 19th century, was must be declared and no sneak attacks allowed, will you build cannon to arm strong or foot riflemen quick.

And of course you will need leaders to help things out, but how to juggle the various needs? A fun 4 hours for a group

Another great game for at least 3 players (best with 5) . Buy this one.

This game does have an enormous and beautiful map board. The game's publisher has supported the product well, demonstrated by their posting of the game's rules and map on their website.

Not a bad product, but it is important to know if this is the sort of game you are looking for.
