4.0 out of 5 stars Sid Vicious is great
If you're a huge Sex Pistol and Sid Vicious fan this cd is for you. The recording is poor, but it gives you that vintage feel which you should attain by listening to 70's punk music in the first place!

2.0 out of 5 stars worth buying!
Sid Vicious Lives is a forgettable compilation for a cheap price. The cover of Belson Was A Gas, titled as "Belsen", is pretty neat but Sid doesn't even sing the second verse, he just sings the first verse over again. The rythm section consists of Rat Scabies(the Damned), Steve New(the Rich Kids), and Glen Matlock of Sex Pistols fame, just as Sid Vicious. The tracks from...

The rythm section consists of Rat Scabies(the Damned), Steve New(the Rich Kids), and Glen Matlock of Sex Pistols fame, just as Sid Vicious. The tracks from CBGB's are noted as excellent recordings of Sid, those being Search and Destroy(trk. 9) and My Way(AlTERNATIVE VERSION, trk. 10), which sounds better than the recording of My Way on trk. 8. The most interesting tracks are definitely the Sex Pistols remixes. Cheers.

1.0 out of 5 stars pardon me- I meant NOT worth buying, May 31, 2002
This review is from: Sid Vicious Lives (Audio CD)
Save your money. Don't buy this just because it's cheap. I'm here to write bad reviews for albums because you read too many positive ones, and you're being mislead. You don't need this. If you feel like Never Mind the Bollocks isn't enough and you need more Sex Pistols related discography, don't get your hopes up too high.

2.0 out of 5 stars are there any better sounding recordings of this cd?, December 28, 2000

well the price is right ,the song list is great, the peformance is good, but the sound of the recording is bad?well i know punk rock isnt supposed to be technical but it would help to presurve sids memory if the sound was cleaned up.sounds like a tape made from the audience.so unless you are a sid collector i would suggest tring a different cd.

4.0 out of 5 stars WHAT DID YOU EXPECT ???, October 5, 2005
By
This review is from: Sid Vicious Lives (Audio CD)
You're right, the recording is lousy and Sid is so messed up he can't remember the words and when he does he slurs through most of the songs...THAT'S whats so great about it... this is Sid Vicious, what did you expect? He is the patron saint for not giving a f*. "i wanna be your dog" is my favorite, Sid growls, slurs and yelps through MY WAY, BELSEN WAS A GAS and I'M NOT YOUR STEPPING STONE, yells at the crowd, PUNK RAWK ;) 5 stars for content and minus no stars for poor recording quality and minus 1 star for changing the original title from "sid live" to "sid lives"< cuz that's just tacky and stupid.
