After much research I narrowed my selection to this Bible. I appreciate the wide margins, the font size (not too big but not too small), the high quality leather, heavy duty binding and the gauge paper used. I could not be more satisfied.

I absolutely love this Bible! It is hands-down the most gorgeous, luxurious Bible ever. The feel, the smell...and of course the content is of infinite worth! After wearing my (bonded leather) Bible to shreds over the first 20 years of my Christian walk, I wanted one that would last me for the next 40+, hence the decision to spend the extra money on calfskin. I really like the velvet cover that comes with it because it protects the gold edges from getting water-spotted when I carry it to church in the rain. This version has a very comfortable font size, but not so large as to be annoying (I do not have vision trouble now, but as I said, I want this to last 40 years!). There is also plenty of room for writing in the margins. Just one caveat: many of these Bibles (at least from the print run I got) have a poorly printed spine. The gold writing looked like it was already worn from use! I had to exchange a couple of times. I ended up getting the Burgundy color, in spite of the slightly "faded" look the color has. It seems to be improving with time, as natural oils from my hands are making it more shiny. I was told this is the best protection for the leather as well: hold it, read it, USE IT! (Funny how that has the simultaneous effect of improving and protecting one's heart as well....) The hardest thing was getting used to writing in it. It seemed at first like the kind of Bible that should be kept free of marks. But what good is a Bible that isn't full of notes and underlines? So I have finally started marking it. Ultimately, I know I won't regret it. I feel like I am making a family heirloom! It is worth every penny.
