About the Author
Peter Egan's first writings appeared in Cycle World magazine in 1977 and he has been a regular fixture ever since. He has also written features and a regular column, "Side Glances" for Road & Track magazine. Peter and his wife Barb live in Madison, Wisconsin with a houseful of dogs and a garage filled with motorcycles and cars, and the sound set for his garage blues band.

Somehow, Egan talks about things I have also done or thought about, and uses just the right words to describe them...Amazing. Like the others in the series, these are repeats from Road and Track. Even though I have read most of them before, that does not diminish the joy I feel in reading them again (and again!).

A wonderful, easy read for Peter Egan fans and a must read for "car people". However, since I grew up in Northeastern Wisconsin, spent many days at road Amwerica,and lived in Madison for many years, my review of this book is not exactly impartial. I know of the places in the area Peter writes about in this book. Consequently, I am a devoted fan of his columns and features. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.
