My assessment: I just finished making my "infamous" New Year's Eve clam dip and utilized the "Sideswipe" for the first time since I received it a few days ago. I can attest that this accessory does exactly what it's intended to do; it scrapes (gently!) the sides of the bowl so effectively, there's truly no need for you to do so, which will save you both time and energy! It offers easy clean up as well, making it an ideal Kitchenaid cook's companion.
I highly recommend this product; just be sure to measure your existing beater blade (height and width), so you are sure to order the right size for your specific Kitchenaid mixer.
I need to offer an explanation in that I have limited use of my fingers due to nerve damage and was looking for something that would eliminate the less than perfect design of the KA metal blade. The need to grab another spoon to clean out from between the tabs can sometimes be difficult.
When making cookies that call for bits (chips, raisins, etc.) the Metro blade okay. However, when mixing large amounts of bits and chunks, this SideSwipe is actually better than the Metro because the bits seem to have an escape through the tabs, but most everything, I prefer the Metro.
I use both, but if I had to buy just one it would be the Metro.
I have retired the original aluminum blade (pain to clean by hand anyway) and rely on these aftermarket pieces.
Even though I followed directions to adjust the mixer height, the rubber mixing fins began to tear away from the side swipe. The material just doesn't hold up well.
And forget about customer service. There is none. They obviously don't really care about their customers after they get your money.
I contacted them several times through their customer service email. Every time the auto reply said "it may take extra time to get a response. Please allow two business days to hear back from us."
NINE days later I got a response from a person, asking for more information so they could make it right. I replied immediately and almost 3 weeks later (4 weeks total) there has been no other contact from them despite several follow up emails from me.
A big FAIL here for both the product and their customer service. Too bad. A little customer service could have kept my business and a positive opinion of this company. Their lack of action made it clear that they don't really care.
Although I used the version for the tilt head KitcheAid mixer, I suspect that the material and customer service issues would be the same.

We used the sideswipe once, washed it on the top rack of the dishwasher and it came out with brownie batter under the blue silicone. Read morePublished 14 days ago by L. Stillwell
This should be standard equipment with the mixer. Cleans the sides of the bowl as it mixes, which makes using it so much easier.Published 14 days ago by Quality Seeker

Exactly what I needed & works great. The offset paddles get the sides really well. Thinking about buying another one for my grown daughter, who bakes constantly.Published 21 days ago by Amazon Customer
The really makes mixing easy. It scrapes the bowl down while it mixes. I don't need to stop it to scrape down the sides. Sure makes baking MUCH MUCH easier. Read morePublished 22 days ago by Angie SC
