4.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant Companion EP to "Show" Album, June 1, 2003
This review is from: Sideshow (Audio CD)
In 1993 the Cure issued "Show", essentially a "greatest hits live" album. This EP runs 5 tracks, 19 min. and covers 4 tracks not on the "Show" album.

The initial track is "Tape (Intro)", a 3 min. instrumental that is not "live", not sure where it fits in with the "Show" to be honest. "Just Like Heaven" is the only overlap with "Show", and meant to be the "single" off of "Show", it's a great song.

The remaining tracks are from the same Auburn Hills, MI show that produced the "Show" album, but are not on that album. "Fascination Street" has been a concert staple of the Cure ever since it came out on "Disintegration" and shows up here in great form. "The Walk" and "Let's Go to Bed" are familiar tunes, and should've been on "Show" but presumably left off due to CD length restrictions. Great tunes, though, and they showcase the Cure in great form live. All in all, a great EP.

5.0 out of 5 stars a good review for sideshow, December 12, 2001

I think all the others who have reviewed this disc have been way too unfair. I love the recording quality and the band did a great performance of some beautiful songs like my fave "just like heaven". Robert smiths vocals are as good live as in the studio. together they all make a swirling, non-defined beautiful colourful sound that you can sink into. those who enjoy the original versions of the songs featured here should have no reason to not love this disc as i do.

5.0 out of 5 stars all bow to the cure, September 3, 1998
This review is from: Sideshow (Audio CD)
the cure's music is untouchable in its depth and beauty. anyone who disagrees with this has obviously never been in love or been in pain. i recommend every single recording ever put out by the cure, especially Faith. long live the cure.
