Barely worth the excitement...,
By JJJ's mom (Hon, HI) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sidney Sheldon's Mistress of the Game (Kindle Edition)
I've been a Sheldon fan for over 3 decades and was devastated by his death. I was very excited--and very hopeful--that another writer would choose to try filling Sheldon's HUGE literary shoes. The new writer fails to come close. It was an interesting read--fun to "catch up" with the characters and the whole Blackwell legacy, but missed Sheldon terribly. It took this writer, Bagshawe, pages and pages to do what Sheldon could do in just one paragraph. I won't be purchasing anymore "Sheldon-esque" books. RIP Mr. Sheldon...

Disappointed with co-author's craft,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sidney Sheldon's Mistress of the Game (Kindle Edition)
Having been a fan of Sidney Sheldon for years, I found this book to be a big disappointment. The co-author has taken Sheldon's work to an all-time low. Sheldon always had such flair for suspense that kept the reader riveted. His works were always "clean" and free from sexual innuendo and sexual immorality. This story included blatant sexual references (incestuous relationship between cousins, conniving teen, etc.) that added nothing to the story line. However, it was apparent that the co-author made sure Sheldon's flair for suspense was continued through the book; which kept me reading until the end. It was Sheldon's story line that helped me overlook the unnecessary additions and enjoy the story. I am sure that Mr. Sheldon would have been disappointed to know that another "well-meaning" author insinuated her craft in his work.
