Wonderful story line.
Read 1, you'll want to read the rest. Great Sci-fi series. The main character is of Gypsy descent, it was a real eye opener seeing life & space from a Gypsy point of view.

Siduri's Net - Family and Adventure
Siduri's Net (The Cloudships of Orion, Book #1) reminded me of C. J. Cherry's "Finity's End" in terms of family/ship relationships with a whole new industry thrown in - starfield mining. The perspective, however, is totally different for North American readers: Slavs, Czechs, Greeks, Gypsies (Roms), Russkis- trying to work together AND trying to maintain...

Siduri's Net (The Cloudships of Orion, Book #1) reminded me of C. J. Cherry's "Finity's End" in terms of family/ship relationships with a whole new industry thrown in - starfield mining. The perspective, however, is totally different for North American readers: Slavs, Czechs, Greeks, Gypsies (Roms), Russkis- trying to work together AND trying to maintain their own cultures. Then we learn the "science" of harvesting starfields and "cloudship sailing". Somehow, I kept waiting for the action; about half-way through I realized it wasn't the action that mattered but the people. This book finishes its storyline satisfactorily, leaves you wanting more cloudship adventures without leaving any obvious loose ends.
