5.0 out of 5 stars An underexposed 1970s Salsa classic., October 7, 2004

This review is from: Siempre Sere Guajiro (Audio CD)
Headed by william Millan and Henry Fiol, Saco was a band that took the classic Cuban son montuno and conjunto sounds of great soneros like Abelardo Barroso, Guillermo Portabales and Roberto Faz (among others) and "modernized" them for the 1970s New York Salsa era. This band's sound was (in a certain way) something of a cross between 1940s-'50s Cuban music and 1970s New York salsa. This fine CD reissue has gone out-of-print so buy it while you still can.
