This is a beautiful, acoustic recording. Heringman does a nice job interpreting these pieces. Heavy reverberation brings a rich, haunting quality to the performances, which must have been recorded in a large empty hall. The CD seems to play at a lower volume for some reason, but the music is great. Excellent renaissance/early baroque lute artistry.
