I believe I've been using this calendar since the 1970's. I've kept them all as way of returning to past years to remind myself where I've been and what I've accomplished. Although I have a smart phone, this is my daily calendar. My friends mock me when I pull it out, but I don't care one whit. The photos remind me that there are things in life far more important than work, than the mundane routine of every day existence. Looking at the calendar daily assists me in keeping perspective. No doubt I attribute too much to this little calendar, but that's how I feel.

I've used this book for many years for my business and also for personal planning. The most attractive features, of course, are the stupendous photographs each week. My other reason is that the weeks follow the European style of running Monday to Sunday, so my weekend is not divided on two pages. The tight double spiral binding decently heavy paper stock hold up well, even though it is thrown into a bag every time I leave the house.

As with many reviewers, I've been using the Sierra Club Engagement Calendar for many years. The moment it comes, I go through the pictures -- slowly, letting their beauty sink in, relaxing into them. The pictures really are wonderful. But just as wonderful are their complex balances. There are pictures from all over the country. My wife and I have camped in a fair few places, so as I sit with each picture, often memories come back. There are pictures of places, plants, animals; mountains, deserts, sea-ice, plains, forests; not just the great views of the west, but the more intimate and gentler beauties of the east and midwest; and of course, all the seasons. I enjoy these pictures not just in my first review and on the week they come up. Afterwards, I put them on my office bookshelves, turning them week after week, year after year. So I'm already enjoying my 2013 Engagement Calendar, moving through fall into winter.

I have used the Sierra Club engagement calendars for years and always look forward to the new calendar each year. The nature photography is beautiful and there is a wide variety of scenery, animals, birds, weather, botanicals, and more. There is room to make notations on each day. Each page displays a beautiful photo and the week at a glance. I like the fact that each page begins with Monday (instead of Sunday) and the current month is in the corner. I got a different nature calendar one year for some reason, but went right back to the Sierra Club the next year. The other just didn't do it as well.

I've used these for over 30 years. They really are the very best engagement calendar. The photos are gorgeous, there is a lot of room to write your appointments and notes. It is easy to drop into a purse or bag to take along, or a nice size to leave out to consult.

This is the first time I've purchased this calendar. The Sierra Club calendar is very similar to one I had purchased for years but is no longer available. This calendar has beautiful nature photos, high quality paper, week-at-a-glance pages and best of all (at least for me) is a photo for every week! I think in general, hardcopy engagement calendars are diminishing in choice, with everyone going electronically. Though I have an electronic calendar, I prefer to use a hardcopy desk calendar for personal appointments. And it seems the ones that are out there are chintzing out by limiting the photos. Or, they are designed more for home use, looking "cutesy/crafty" and not necessarily what you want sitting at your work desk. Turning the page each Monday to see a new photo is like my little highlight to begin each week. Looking forward to using it.

Although everything seems to be electronic these days, I still prefer a paper engagement calendar for my personal use (as well as a large wall calendar for family use/communication). I record all sorts of things in my engagement calendar - appointments, vacation information, my exercise, etc. I actually have kept several years' worth, which I can go back through and reminisce about various activities (sort of like a diary, without having anything too incriminating!). I purchase the Sierra Club Engagement Calendar every year (with a couple of exceptions of when I didn't, which I later regretted). The spiral binding makes it easy to flip through the pages. There is ample writing space for each day. And best of all, the photos of the animals and scenery are absolutely amazing.

I have been using this engagement calendar for many years now, and it never disappoints. The photos are wonderful, gorgeous. The spiral binding and covers are strong enough to hold-up through a year of heavy use and transport wherever I go on a daily basis. There is plenty of room to write in the space for each day, one week on each page, opposite a page with a picture. There are a couple of blank lined pages for notes at the end of the calendar, and I wish there were a couple more of those, but I just copy them and paste the copies over a few pages about the Sierra Club at the end of the calendar...I use these "Notes" pages for my often-used phone numbers and my children's class schedules and school calendar.

First there is the stunning and I do mean stunning photography. The pictures really are amazing and cover the entire United States. Then there is the perfect size, not to big to throw in a bag and not too small to hold the entire family's appoints in the week by week format. The card stock is heavy and nice and the spiral binding makes the calendar lay flat for easy reading and writing of appointments and notes. For those so inclined, the pictures are so beautiful that after the year is over, they could easily be used for scrapbooking and other paper arts. Really a wonderful calendar and like I say, it won't be my last year - I am a convert!

I have been giving the Sierra Club Engagement Calendar as the gift that keeps on giving every year since 1995. I used to be able to buy them at a discount book store usually Mid-November, but that book store went away; I almost panicked.

When Amazon came along and began to offer this calendar at the same price as my discount book store, I was elated. I am slightly disappointed that the calendar no longer comes in the cardboard mailing packaging like it used to. Now I have to buy mailers to send these to my friends and family. It still makes a great gift (and I always get two or three just for me).
