This is a very good book. Covers lots of essential topical material (chapters cover, e.g., 'before you begin', 'in camp with children' (a critical one), 'winter activities', as well as chapters on hiking, backpacking, bicycling, water sports). Excellent index, and bibliography (a bit dated by now) and checklist. Also readable, with a nice balance of 'git out there!' and 'be very, very, careful'. Well done.
