That weather was a good test of an all-mesh tent, and I was pleased.

Light, easy to set up and waterproof.
This weekend was spent in Michigan's lake country. saturday night a huge thunderstorm hit us. We were dry as a bone in the AM.
Two adults and a dog in one tent and three boys in another. We own two of these tents and have used them extensively on hiking trips.
The best hiking-tents we have owned and for the money we paid ($144 each) a huge bargain too!

After much research and experience with the Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight 2, I strongly recommend it for backpacking, bike trips and even car camping.

Twice I have owned this tent -- once when it was a full-material tent called The Flashlight and now this all-mesh design (called the Clip Flashlight 2). Both were about the same weight. The mesh design of the Flashlight 2 allows some condensation to drip off of the fly and into the tent, I can assure you. However, it is not enough for me to cast it aside. The very light weight, the clever design and the sturdy materials make it my favorite of lightweight, packing tents.

This condensation condition will take place more in high-humidity locales, such as the South, and my breathing alone will cause it. No problem -- I keep a bandana handy for this reason and it is not enough to pool.

I chose my first Flashlight to bicycle-camp and used it alot, liking it enough to take it car-camping when I could have brought a larger tent, and enough to buy the new design of the present Clip Flashlight 2 when I lost the old tent.

The front of the Flashlight is high enough to sit and change clothes or organize your pack, even with the optional gear loft or a light up-top. The inside is actually better for one person camping, but a medium man and small woman will fit comfortably not feel cramped in it. Two guys would be too cramped. it is long enough to keep some gear inside at the head or foot of the tent.

The vestiule is large enough to store a pack, 2 pair of boots and other gear out of the weather, but would not fit 2 packs.

My 80's model leaked at the tub floor during heavy rain as it was from the factory, and I seam-sealed it, but never got rained on again.

Following many sort-of-lightweight tents, including several dome tents, I finally found a nearly new Clipflashlight 2 tent on Craig's List. It was the best money I have ever spent on a tent. While it is not self supporting, it is, with the help of the Groundhog tent stakes, the most secure and comfortable tent I have used.

For years I used the Kelty Zen tent (2003) and had nothing but praise for it. I had literally spent weeks in this tent. Well, my new Sierra Designs tent is proving to be an excellent replacement for my old Kelty tent. I've already spent two rainy nights in it without incident or getting wet. It is a very nice design and the well thought out. The tent stakes are excellent.

There are a few things that I didn't care for. There are several locations where the fly is anchored via a plastic clip. The issue is that the fly is too close to the tent floor and I'm afraid I'm going to be left wet some time. I plan on modifying the fly to move it away from the tent floor to avoid possible issues in the future.

I'm 6'1" and I fit in the tent just fine. I'm primarily using the tent for motorcycle camping.

SO FAR SO GOOD!!!
