A waste of money for the little bit that they work.

The hose will either start leaking in the bends or where it attaches to the pump, or the switch will stick in the off position and not be able to turn on.

I use this to fill my lawn tractor, and right now, my leaf wagon motor, out of a five gallon gas can.

I put in new batteries and checked they were inserted correctly, but this pump would not turn on at all. I've seen other comments about bad switches in the Sierra Tools pumps and my symptoms seem to fit that but I can't be sure since it never got any power. I will be returning this. I could not judge how it would have been if it had worked.

Edited a couple weeks later - changed from 1 star to 3 - would have rated 4 stars if original had worked.
I got my replacement a few days ago (kudos to Amazon for easy replacement). The replacement works just as advertised. I hope it will keep working.
A few things to note that might not be obvious:
1. The inflexible shaft goes into the source reservoir so you need a direct line-of-sight into it. The longer flexible tube is the output.
2. The inflexible shaft has a max diameter about 1 and one-eight inch near its end so you will not be able to insert it into anything with an opening narrower than that.
3. It has a 14" length so you cannot drain a reservoir deeper than that.
4. There will be about one-half inch of liquid left that cannot be pumped out of the source reservoir. I suppose that couldn't be avoided but I would have liked to more completely drain the gas from my snow blower so I would feel save to store it inside in my basement over the summer.

This a a great tool. I use it to pump gasoline from a 5 Gal can into a boat. It will pump 5 Gal in about 3 1/2 minues--quite acceptable for my needs. I can't accurately speek to the battery life but I have pumped 12 5 Gal cans (60 Gal total) and the original batteries are going strong. The only reason I did not give this pump a 5 star rating is because of the delivery hose (from the pump to the end of the hose). The hose is a bit flimsey and the weight of the gasoline in the hose pulls the end out of the fill spout of the boat. I attached a wooden splint on a partial distance of the hose for additional support and now it works prefectly. Again a great little tool.

This is a great product to fill up the lawnmower or tractor without having
to pick up a 5 gallon container. I would have given this item a 5 except the
hose is just a little flimpsy.

I just recieved this today so I can't comment on longevity, however, it works great for transferring gas from a can into a car. I am impressed with it thus far. A great little gadget.

Nice product. It drip leaks on the discharge hose but I can live with that. Costs to much to return. There could be an improvement with the discharge hose connection as it seems a little flimsy.

I am very glad I decided to get this pump. I have been using a manual pump style transfer pump for several years and when it gave out I could not find a new one. I guess the EPA or someone has clamped down on these things now, because the new ones are not even close to what the old ones were. I thought I was out of luck. A five gallon can full of gas is a bit hard for me to handle without spilling the contents. I searched for a while and found this item. I think I have seen something like this for kerosene, but those are NOT RATED FOR GASOLINE, so make sure when you buy one you know it is rated for gasoline. I use this to fill my lawn tractor, and right now, my leaf wagon motor, out of a five gallon gas can. It is quick enough for me, very easy, and not messy. I highly recommend it.

This pump has a design flaw which can be fixed with teflon tape.
The threads on the assembly can be fixed by 4 rounds of tefon tape on the assembly pieces. Assemble the pieces tightly together. This is not the cap piece,
I originally thought that the switch was bad. It was NOT.
Not a bad portable fuel transfer pump.
