I use Wikinvest on my iPad so I was very happy to see the ad free version for my android tablet as the free app of the day.

The app does ask for your log in information for your investment bank which will turn a lot of people off right away. If you are not comfortable giving out this information then this app is not for you and I recommend that you use google finance. I have used Wikinvest for over a year now and am very comfortable stating that I trust this company to keep my information secure.

If you do end up using this app you will find that the app works very well and I haven't run into any bugs or issues yet. The app offers a ton of great statistical information on your portfolio.

This app requires you to input your financial institutions username and password. It updates your stock info at night. I didn't feel comfortable providing my log in information to a third party company that would then gain access to all of my stock accounts.Google Finance doesn't require personal information and it provides you with real-time quotes during trading sessions. It's a much better app and it's free.

This application is decent, but still needs improvement. I have 3 retirement fund accounts at 3 different sites from 3 former employers, and thought this would be a great way to simplify checking in on all of them. I first added my Fidelity account with no problem whatsoever. Worked perfectly! I next went to add my WellsFargo IRA account, and while it was not as simple at selecting WellsFargo, and entering my username and password, I was able to manually add this as a ticker was available for my fund. I entered the number of shares I currently own and was done with that account. Next I tried adding my current employer's ING Retirement Plan account, but for some reason selecting ING within this app forces you to Sharebuilder. I went to the wikinvest.com site, same issue. I was also not able to add any of the funds I am invested in since they don't seem to correspond directly to any stock ticker. While 2 out of 3 ain't bad, not being able to show the account for my current 401k is a bit disheartening. If this is not corrected soon I will uninstall the app.

I also noticed on the website you can select what information you would like to display for each account, while this app only has share price and % change, without the ability to view other information, such as change in $, original purchase price, number of shares, total value of shares you own, etc. If it's on the site, why not in the app?
