Great pseudo-thermos,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sigg Steelworks - Metro Mug (0.38-Liters) (Sports)
This is a great "mug", but I do have a few complaints. When buying the mug, I noticed that Sigg makes a thermos. I therefore assumed that this would not be a thermos, and would have a drinking spout accessible without removing the lid. In reality, this mug requires you to remove the lid to drink from it. One problem with this is that the condensation on the lid usually drips on your pants as you remove it.
The cup is adequately sized, and I love the look of it- it is very simple and modern. The outside of the cup does not get noticeably warmer when boiling tea is put inside, and the beverage inside it remains hot and at drinking temperature for hours. The bottom of the cup is rubbery, so it will not easily slip. The mug's diameter is not very large, making it slightly unstable in some shallow car cup holders. The lid is tight and secure, and leaking is completely out of the question. I feel comfortable keeping it next to my laptop in a bag. Overall, it is a great looking thermos with the practical applications of a mug. It is great for use at a desk after a commute, but don't drink and drive with it, or you may risk a lap doused with your still piping-hot drink.

Not a Travel Mug,
By The top caps only function is to 'cap' the middle piece. The middle piece, that many seam to thing you drink from, serves only as a pressure release cap but nothing beyond that. You do not drink from the middle piece! To be a considered a MUG, Sigg needs to redesign the top, go with a slightly larger circumference so that it would not move about in our cars cup holder. You leave the cap off and you WILL have fluid all over you car. It will take two hands to open this thermos which is not good for driving. One thing is fore sure... this thermos does hold temperature really well. The paint is also fabulous. Would I buy it again? For the price probably not. It needs to be labeled a THERMOS.
